1990 1/2 ton 4x4 Beach/Hunting burb

Got some new shoes. Decided to go 35's. I got a heck of a deal through a buddy that manages a Discount Tire. Also decided on a 6" lift. Bigger than I wanted, but plans change. It will give me some more ground clearance, and get the poles higher for surf fishing. I'm looking forward to having some time to get this thing together. I'm going to order the lift tomorrow, still not sure what brand. Any suggestions are welcome. View attachment 196829 View attachment 196830

Nice shoes! :thumb:

It isn't pretty, but it's just getting started.
That photo will come in handy when you're doing a before and after comparison. Welcome to the forum, and I look forward to following your progress.

Tuff country ez ride.
I second this. Ran a set for 10 years and was very pleased. Great value for money.

Just FYI, I have that exact wheel and tire combo on my Blazer, and i get no rubbing with a 4" lift.

6" Tuff Country EZ Ride is on the way. We will probably put it on this weekend depending on weather. Transmission rebuild will be next Saturday. The following Saturday we will button it all up. So in 3 weeks I should have a running, lifted Suburban. I can't say I'm not excited.

Didn't get it to over the weekend. But we did half this afternoon. So far, so good. Apparently my burb is a rare 1/2 ton with 56" rear springs, but everything went together nicely.

...put your butt in the air
...like you just don't care...

seriously, that's a good height. I will do 56's when I do my lift.

Don't mind the fat guy. We got most of the front lift done. We put on my buddy's wheels and tires because he's using my new tires to sort out driveline issues. I'm getting new brake lines made, I took the front drive shaft to get lengthened, got new swaybar bushings, and ordered sway bar disconnects from ORD. I love how it turned out. It's getting close now.

good looking rig. Nice stance.

The blue truck belongs to my buddy that has been helping me with the Suburban. Those are my wheels and tires on his. Then a picture of just the Suburban without a fat guy blocking it.

I love, absolutely love that BFG wheel and tire combo. I will own another square that I can put those on.

So schexy.

My baby boy getting ready to drive, what will one day be his suburban.

Not much more progress, other than the quad shocks and new calipers. I got the new radio wired in and new dash speakers installed. I found out that it has 4x10 Memphis audio speakers in back. So those are staying, and I'm installing the 6x9's that I bought into the barn doors. I need to build spacers so I can put 6.5's in the front doors. Just little stuff to finish it, other than the transmission rebuild.
