GM Tuned Port is still the coolest looking induction systems going imo.
Looks like a face hugger from Aliens got hold of the motor lol
I started out with ruff-stuff hoops when it was leafsprung. I built off of those out to the perimeter tube for the mounts. View attachment 467327

Over the weekend I decided to pull down my head liner because I was tired of sand always falling on me from when I was upside down in the hottub in moab. @Tnsejed I thought of you and saved some sand in a jar, sprinkle some in your truck for good luck

That's hilarious. Still amazing your roof survived at all.

Thanks for the thought but I'll pass. :haha:On the survival note, there is survival, and contamination. Lots of things in Pripyat have survived, yet they are contaminated. Thusly, we have the same here except we are talking about waste that is gross and not radioactive...I think.

Some updates, suspension is set, positioning the axle straight took forever with my smooth brain. Waiting on the right length limit straps. In the mean time rerouted brake lines and replaced fuel lines because I didn't love the old routing.

Currently test fitting where the orbital will go, pretty sure this is the spot

Isn't the orbital stupid, as in you get everything in place and you think ok we are getting there, oh crap the orbital, where the crap is it gonna go... well I guess here looks stupid but works haha. That's how I felt about my placement

Round the corner of the bumpstop landing pad on the axle. Its tough to get em to land good during axle swing due to panhard. Scotchbriting that edge will help the bumpstop pad live much longer.

Keep chugging away man, you're getting there!

Just an observation but why not mount the orbital straight to the column without the shaft and u-joints? Like tractors and mega trucks and such. No need for extra crap when you can basically just mount the steering wheel straight to an orbital valve. Just wondering.

Its so ridiculous, the places you find yourself holding the damn thing wondering if it'll work. But I guess it comes back to "is it stupid if it works?"

I've never thought of it or seen a bracket like this. Going to look into this.

It got me thinking because tractors and equipment I have experience with do it that way and I did a quick google search and found some stuff on it. A lot of parts geared towards mega trucks it seems. I think that exact pic I posted was a bracket someone used to make for a jeep yj maybe.

I looked around briefly and didn't see anyone who makes a bracket like that anymore.

@rderosier I thought of doing this. On my setup the shock hoop is in the way or I would of done this. I thought of putting orbital inside the cab then decided no incase a like comes off and oil goes all over me

Yeah, after I looked at it again it would be super close to the tube if it cleared at all, and everything clears where it's sitting on the frame now and nothing is binding. I'll just run it where its at.

I litteraly had my suspension full stuff with one tire on the driver's side and I had it turned as far left and I just started from there, where ever I got it to fit with out binding is where it lives. Cross that off the list on to the next thing

I like this strategy, rolling with it.
