1990 5.3 Jimmy

IIRC there was lots of slip left. His uptravel from ride height only moved the slip a small amount (the .25"). There was still lots of shaft showing. I will watch it when we shakedown next.

With that said, @Bent77 you should come and run liberty or Chinamans with us.

Probably not in the cards. I have one open weekend between moab and now, looking to run Moody hill up north here, eh.
All this Down south paddle faster crap makes me nervous

Smallish update
Decided to make adjustable bump stops up front put of some extra Dom I had laying around because my pitman arm was hitting the top leaf plate at full stuff

They're not beautiful but they work great and might give other people some ideas

It did really well! Good work Robert. Hopefully they'll lengthen the female splines without much drama. It only dropped when you were turtled, so that's good news.

Thanks!
I just got off the phone with them and they'll lengthen the female end for it, were pretty amazed it still slipped.
Just gotta drive my ass up there.

Good to hear that. 1.25" was our final determination right? Will leave .750" of shaft plunge left at full stuff.

Yup, 1.25 is what we're rolling with. Hopefully for the final front drive shaft modification.

Spending far too much time working my front shaft than I should.

I'm also thinking mounting the limit straps to the rear of the front axle or front spring plate may help keep the wrap a bit more under control. I'm not sure though if it would actually make a difference. Maybe someone else can chime in there.

Hmm that would make some sense that the straps would prevent some axle wrap.
@Bent77 you run limiting straps on the front right? Any input? How long are yours/approx. front lift height also?

I’ll have to measure them. Running 52s up front

Ok some back information: set this up when it did not have the doubler and was not high pinion

Top of the axle is 12.5” below the bottom of the mount lip for the factory bump stop

Strap is 19” on centers
