So....how’s the noise?
Trying to piece together a seal kit for my burb and wondered how yours turned out?
Just hold it to the floor and drop it. Ends all the suspenseI think this 700R4 might be dying.. Ugh. Been having a slight overheat issue and I think it's tied to the trans temps. It'll idle at operating temp and never get hot, but if you drive it it slowly creeps up. Good water flow, new T stat, new fan clutch. Yesterday I was going to drive it to work and second gear was not working as advertised. Going to check fluids and see if that helps, but its got 200k on it so I guess we will see.

With how it felt yesterday, it might just be like reving it up in neutral!Ask @Babaganoosh how to let the demon outWith how it felt yesterday, it might just be like reving it up in neutral!
Just mash it, it will let you know what it wants.Ask @Babaganoosh how to let the demon out
Only 2nd gear?
Or was 1st not working?
Do a burnout. You'll likely know if it's broken by the end of that
I have lunched a few 700s. Hence my general hate for them.1st seemed to work normally. Second slipped. I turned around and parked it as I was heading to work.

Never known one to do that. Typically they start losing gears pretty quickly. But since I hate 700s I'm going to say it's not long for this world.
What does the trans fluid look like?

200k? 700r4? It was probably already rebuilt at 125k or so![]()
Well that is easier and cheaper to fix than a rebuild of the transmission. I've had one do that too.Added 2.5 quarts of ATF. Good to go now. I'm guessing the case is probably plumb full of fluid.
