1990 K5 blazer

He is in California, lots of people have newer trucks with older vin.
It helps with smog.
Ideal would be a no smog vin but an older carbed vin is better than the newer more restricted years.
Most likely the previous owner did that

Now that you mention this I will look into it and get back to ya!
Are you sure its an 82? I see ABS on the master cylinder which was a 90/91 item, not something folk generally swap on. 89-91 clip is an easy swap, but that coupled with master cylinder make me think its possibly a 90/91
Vin decoder shows it’s an 82 jimmy

I vote vin swap. No sane person would swap in the shittyest ABS system ever made onto an earlier truck. Tbi, serp drive, under hood reel trouble light with that abs is all consistent with a 89-91 k5 than an 82.

That’s not a bad thing. Outside of the crappy abs the rest of the truck is better than an ‘82.

Do check a couple of other things because I’m curious. Does it have a 5 digit odometer or 6 digit? Also look in the glovebox. There should be a spid label with the vin and option codes on the inside of the glovebox door. I’m betting they don’t match the vin on your paperwork.

Bet somebody swapped an ‘82 tub onto a 90/91 frame because the original body was in bad shape. I’d check the frame vin to see if it matches the dash vin.

alright "yall" the vin on the reg shows its a 82 jimmy and the spid shows its a 90 blazer...

Zoomad75 it has 6 digits in the odometer. thanks for the clarification
That’s cool. Somebody did the work for you if you have a clean registration with the ‘82 vin.

It’s wide open if you want to do an engine swap. You have a 241 t-case with vss and the electric speedo to go along with it. Works great with a LS swap or L29 or L18 (454 or 8.1) fuel injected big block swap.

Well I’m excited about that! A bigger engine is tempting but not sure if I can tackle a project that big. With some assistance from you guys I think I could pull it off though.

Also here’s some more pictures of the suspension.. I plan to drop it at least 6 inches and preferably make it more comfortable to ride in.
