1990 k5 with lQ4/4l80e

Well things have been delayed. I was just about to yank the motor when I got a phone call. Ill be moving 4hrs away to a bigger district, good thing is anything left from the 5-7k moving bonus goes in the blazer. But I've got to move the bitch now. So it will realistically be about a month before I make any progress.

I got the crossmember from TNA, got the lift and engine stand (just put the dang things together). And I finally decided I am getting the 07 conversion fiberglass fenders, hood, bedsides. From McNeil racing

Subscribed.
Where are you moving to?
I did the high mount AC on mine and it blows around 38 degrees, you have to use a parallel condenser and a good set of electric fans to make it work.

San Angelo Texas. What is a parallel condenser? I figured I'd use the stock condenser from the 02. Electric fans are in the plan. Did you buy a bracket or fab one

Edit: I search parallel flow condenser. I get it the condenser in the 02 is parallel, the one in the k5 is serpentine. Is the ac stuff in your build thread? I may have missed it. You've done some awesome work by the way

YES
Condenser come from Napa, it is for a 91 blazer.
Fans are aftermarket kit from Sumitt

Woooohoooo PARTS ORDERD

Ordered
06' conversion w/3" flare bedsides, hood, front fenders, lights, grill, core support
4" ezRide front springs
diy4x4 rear shackle flips

Now re-reserching what I need to get a 241 behind my 4l80e. I know I bought the adapter I need, but I cant remember what spline count I need and what years to find it under.

I want an ArtCar shifter, but looks like it will cost me 250+

West Texas Off Road is just down the road so Ill probably have them build the transmission cross-member

Probably like the bj Baldwin blazer.

As long as your 241 was a 3/4 ton unit, it will bolt right up to your 4l80e.

TH350's and TH700R4's (and 4L60E's) are 27 spline.

T400's (and 4L80E's) are 32 spline.

Well finally got the t - case. Got a 241 from a 91 3/4 ton suburban, so the speed pickup is there and everything matches. But they salvage yard pulled the yolk off and drug it in the dirt wich filled the front output berings with dirt... ****ing nice now I have to tear it down it for no other reason than to clean the dirt out.

Oh.... and I broke an easy out off in an exhaust manifold bolt! FML dude one step forward 7 days back

forget the easy out, weld a bolt to it and turn it out.

exhaust manifold bolts are a bittttch, yep

I'm not confident that I can do that without messing the head up. And there's 4 others broke off. Anyway I yanked the heads, screw it I'm going to rebuild it.

Pretty nasty in there

Why would 5 & 6 be running lean, is it just coincidence that they are opposite each other.

I would take them to the machine shop as you are planning now to do, let them get them out. I got lucky, mine all came out. Keep going though, I had a bunch of headaches with my 6L install and now that I drove it, it was all worth it. Keep your head up.

Mine went fairly smoothly, but yeah, totally worth it. Keep at it. :waytogo:

Got the heads to the shop getting a valve job and I'm going to put new rings in.

A buddy found me a set of 3/4 ton axles under an 81 pickup, but I don't know what to offer him. I have to go pull them
