AMEN to ALL of that !!Its all about charm.
I guess it follows me everywhere I go. For example I much prefer traditional houses, hate modern/new builds. Our current house was built in 1940, but we have renovated inside to get most modern creature comforts but keeping as much of the charm as we could (ie original hardwood floors, original crown molding/trim, etc). I guess its the same with the square CC.
Dont worry, I will make sure I still have to slam the doors to get them to close all the way lol.
Driving an older vehicle by choice is about appreciating what it is and nothing wrong with “standard type upgrades” for that era to fine tune your rig.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have owned a K30 crew cab DRW and have towed with a neighbors 1995 F350 crew cab DRW 7.3P/S and both of those beasts ( and these were fine pullers ) did not hold a candle to the feel and control, or comfort, of pulling with my 2002 Dodge 2500 SRW 5.9 H.O. NVG5600 at max GVWR.
I appreciate each truck for different reasons but no doubt I look forward to the nostalgic feel of an old square body or OBS Ford; but if a long trip was planned towing in the unbearable heat of summer I would want the comfort and sweet power band of modern diesel trucks.
Now, the price, up keep and reliability issues of new trucks coming out of “Detroit” these days makes an old square that much more attractive.
