1991 v3500 - big dumb lifted forever truck

Unrelated, but pretty sure you asked at one point if i had pics of the 4link on the k30 i had…

Well in my digging into the archives to see if i have more pics of the 42” TSL’s, stumbled upon this thread with some pics. https://ck5.com/forums/threads/12-18-updated-pics-on-my-piece-of-junk.212368/#post-1997164

Putfile and photobucket happened further in the thread but the first post has several that still work.

Back to the archives i go….

For my own understanding what is the purpose of this? I guess for a street truck? Seems to me it would ride awful, flex terrible and be very top heavy. I guess I'm so used to the low COG builds of today. These look like the trucks at the bloomsburg jamboree in the 90s. No disrespect to anyone I just don't understand it for a working driving truck.

Ok guys it’s big dumb mud truck time.

The k30 is going to get some honkin tires on it one way or another. The plan right now is as follows:

8” front springs, zero rate 1.5 forward. I already have a 1” body lift on it.

42 tsl on 17x10 hubcap wheels with a 4” backspace.

I’m afraid it’s gonna rub the back of the fender. I’m probably OK with cutting the front fang off a little.
I’m also afraid it’s not gonna stick out enough and look as ridiculous as I want.

I swear the internet has blocked all pictures of 10” lifted squares to see what this looks like.
Just to get this out of the way, I will NOT run a 52 up front.

Who’s got pics to talk me into this further?

what front springs? Skyjacker, BDS, Superlift or custom? back when I was looking 6" was the most lift I could find for 56" springs for the rear; unless you went custom.

I like 42" TSLs with hubcaps......@brandon85465 rig

Man should I church it up with some white wheels and chrome bumpers? That’s a good look too. Initially I was thinking low gloss black like I got now.

A buddy has some springs locally but doesn’t know which manufacturer they are. They look stiff as hell though.

The stiffer the better. If you are going to do it, might as well go both feet in and embrace it!

In texas I’m sure you can find a set of tall springs at every street corner.

no part numbers? what color are bushings? I know a guy with some 42" SX2s.

He said one set it skyjacker and unknown on the other.

Wes just sold his sx2 to some guy up your way. Wonder if they are the same tires lol

Oh those lmao. Those are gone die on the h1 wheels. They don’t leak so they are never coming back apart. Used up all my luck first try.
I run some 8" Skyjackers before, I didn't think the ride was that bad

the ones I am talking about are on a beat up white K5.
