oh yeah on the cheap!! Shipped for $452.98 it normally sells for $694.00 from summitt!! Should be here next week just in time to install!!

WOW! I thought those were like 1200 bucks...

well there are a few different versions, they get more costlydepending on how much control you want over your tranny. I read up on this one and it will do everything I want it too, and boo hoo I have to use my laptop to program it!! That is the big cost on most units is you can program them at the unit, no computer required, but once I set it I prolly wont mess with it again sothe extra 400 aint worth it to me.

looky what showed up today!!

tempted to drop it on the 350 right now but 800CFMwould drown it in fuel, so it will just have to wait.

really it won't, those vac secondarys only open to engine needs. It might be a little rich on the primaries though.

well it's tempting but just got a call and think I might have my 350 and th400 sold, supposed to meet the guy tomorrow so he can hear it run so better just leave it alone. Listed the engine/tranny combo with everything but the distributor for $1000, looks like I will be getting the lift sooner than later I hope!

thats awesome....sounds like your making out good on it.
Was that a somewhat fresh 350? how bout the trans?

not sure but it run really good, just need to adjust the linkage on the carb so it transition smooth and looses the stumble. The trans shift nice and firm too, so I think it's a fari price since everything goes with it. Carb, alternator, A/C, power steering, fan, belts, tranny....seems like a good deal.

oh yeah almost forgot, remember I busted the el cheapo hubs a while back? Well I took care of that on Saturday!!

well it finaly began today, got the old 350 pulled and had to stop for the day. It seems like I did nothing whenI think of what still needs to be done.
so to start a few pics of the 454 with the valve cover and carb just sitting on it.

thats it for today...

I like that pile of oildry on the floor....

And I'll bet that engine stand is screaming for help right now.

yep no matter how long you let it drain there is always a nice suprise gallon or more of antifreeze just waiting for you to set it down so it can come gushing out.

the stand was set on 1/2 ton so yeah I was maxing it a touch but sure made it easy that way.

it's sittin in there for now, still got a long way to go. The headers did not fit, and would you believe it they had the right headers in stock at Orileys!!! there flowtech but what the hell they will work and if I have issues can swap them out later.
anybody wanna buy a set of hedman 's for an 88-94 with a big block? just a few scratches on them.

now all I got to do is install the tranny and t-case and all the extras. The get the 6" lift so I can put the front driveshaft in!!

man that pass side drop looks like the driveshaft will hit it....
Engine looks good in there. Can you get a pic of the valve cover to P.B. booster clearance....thanks

sure I can do it tomorrow when I go back to work on it again.

this has been a real pain so far! will have to get pics of the fancy engineering I did to make the throttle bracket, had to cut apart the small block bracket and the big block bracket and weld them together. There was no way to hook it up on the performer as it was so had to make it work! the good news is I will keep the cruise control and the throttle position sensor will work perfect now.

then the whole headder thing was a bummer, and to top it off my wife is giving me **** for being gone all day for the last two days, women just dont get it, this is not just changing the oil here.

so work came to a screeching hault today!! couple major issues, the trans connector needs to be changed, secong the adaptor wont bolt up to the 208 Tcase. The t-case slides right on to the 4L80E they are both 32 spline so good to go there but the th400 adaptor hits the tranny so pulled the adaptor off the np241 that came with it which bolts up fine to the tranny but not the 208 T-case.......ughhhhhhh.
So I just bolted stuff in place for now and towed it home so I can work on it as I see fit and take my time. Here are some pics from today.
The 4L80E on the inside, that is the harness I need to replace to updat it to work with the TCI controller.
S5000093.jpg

S5000092.jpg

Here are the VSS connectors, the front one is input speed and the one the back is output speed (VSS) its just above the main harness conector
S5000091.jpg

Added drain plug and port for a temp sensor while I was at it
S5000095.jpg

PLenty of room between the brake booster
S5000099.jpg

S5000096.jpg

lots of header room too.
S5000097.jpg

S5000098.jpg

So the harness is on order and I need to find a 4L80E to NP208 adaptor and I will be happy.

there's always a surprise isn't there?
thanks for the pics

ok scratch the last part, after looking on line founf the t-case bolt pater is the same so went out and held the old adpter up to the new and the holes did line up!! WTF!!! not sure how I could not bolt it up earlier today, guess I was just in a rush and was not lined up right. so looks like that is solved.

I thought the driver drop t-case had 1 bolt hole that needed to be elongated in order to use a passenger drop case or vice versa if going the other way.

will find out today or tomorrow for sure. Gonna hold the two adapters up and put the bolts through the hole to see if they really line up perfect or not.

I am beat and sore, so might take the day off from the project and spend some time with the family.

You are correct, got a good look at it today and put bolts inand they will all line up except for the very bottom bolt. Will pull it off again and take it to the machine shop to get slotted, think that will seal better than just wallowing it out with a drill bit.
