1993 3/4 Ton Suburban Build (Solid Axle Swap)

Hmmmm....steering parts (insert Homer Simpson girgling sounds)

I have the same drag link. Do you know what taper the ends are for? I just assembled my crossover and I’m not happy with how low the nut sits. I am thinking they must be drag link taper instead of tie rod taper that my pitman arm and steering arm are reamed to.

Not off hand no. I have pretty much the exact same steering arm and drag link on my K5 crawler and everything seems to fit nicely like it should

Small little thing, but cleaned up the d60 and painted it a bit and installed the crossover steering arm. Other than that, just been working on daily drivers as I've been neglecting them.

I did order the SAS brackets from ORD last week. Hoping they will be here before Christmas as they are supposed to go under the tree. I still need springs, shocks, shackle flip (thinking of going DIY4x on the rear flip brackets), replacement tie rod...and some misc. other crap and then the cutting can begin

Nice! I had to resist during that sale

I’m still in debate if I’m going to go shackle flip when I eventually mess with my burb. Considering going with some custom 4-5” springs since no one seems to have off the shelf. aftermarket ones available.

Need to see some progress here.

Getting close to going under the knife. Once I get the springs (which the plan for that is this weekend) then I just need to pick up a few small things like u-bolts, shocks, etc. So possibly end of this month/beginning of next I'll get to cutting out the IFS

Also, I want to give my hand's a bit of a rest from the grinder since last week I flew to my brothers house and did a full week long build thrash to start the 4 seat buggy we are building. We would start at 7am and work all the way until 7 pm non-stop to get as much work done as we could. Pics below is the progress made in that week (I'm contemplating doing a build thread for this thing on ck5...just cause it's going to be so bad ass that it deserves a build thread somewhere...we'll see). There was so much, bending, notching, grinding, and welding going on in that week...I don't even want to see a grinder for a week or two, haha. So like I said, maybe end of the month or beginning of next I'll get started on the actual work of this thing
