started prepping for some touch up paint. nothing special really.
We also picked up the nv4500 today. It ended up needing a few more parts than i had time to mess with so i spent a little extra dough and had a tried and true shop knock it out for me.
Macks standard transmissions of Houston Texas. Been in budiness since the 50's and is a third generation owned and operated. And theyre offroaders. I give em my approval.
Also started prepping the 60 and will get it assembled today. more to come.

I love having a sandblasting rig at work.

Had just enough time to get it done and get a coat of primer on it, before the wind set back in and now Im trying to find a day or two to primer one more coat and the add a few coats of gloss black.

Here very soon Ill have the axles completely assembled and all the suspension underneath it.

The motor IS being rebuilt as we speak, the guy got started on it late, but he says its in awesome shape and it was a four bolt main. So thats good news.

just to confirm, for anyone following. yes, im alive.
I know i fall in and out but as it can be with a second project, you tend to get aggrevated and neglect them from time to time. Recently got some new incentive though

:woot:

now, im no motor head but this being our father son project, this was mostly my dads doing. Had a local friend build it up for us, hes been building motors forever so hopefully his experiance will show true. Ill try and get the specs on everything when i get a chance.

Other than that. frame is painted and axles are ready to rock, minus tacking the rear perches on for the final pinion angle.

also found a 241 that i can swap my 32 spline input into and make a doubler out of, if ORD ever gets their stuff together and starts pushing the 241/205 kit

thank ya. i must admit Im itching to pour the fuel to it. Were going to be running propane, but the guy who built it puts the pump fuel numbers up around 425-450 hp and close to 500 ftlb of torque.

if thats true, i feel sorry for the stock d60 outters and any u-joints

You wont like that 205, let me take it off your hands.

I like your attention to detail, wish I had the patience. Looking good.

minor update. With everything thats been going on my updates have been scattered and works been slow.
Front d60 is ready to roll, motor is done, tranny is done.
was going to go with the new 241/205 doubler kit from ORD but since they are having issues getting the kit out ive decided to just go the 203/205 doubler route behind the nv4500.
Rear suspension will keep the shackle flip/block/hd spring configuration until the end when all the weight is in the truck and i can adjust the hirght accordingly with a full set of springs/shackle flip combo.
heres a teaser. finally looks like a rig again. (the tires are just roller 38" hawgs, they measure 36-37")

left to do:
doubler install, d-shafts, rear brakes install, plumb brakes and motor, electrical, tires and rear springs so i can ditch the block.

Talked with stephen at ORD the other day. Instead of hunting and pecking for a 203 range box and setting it up to match the nv4500

I just went ahead and swallowed hard and ordered up the whole np203 rangebox ready to roll along with the doubler kit and lastly a 1410 yoke to finish out the 205.

Thank god I already had the right 205 :thumb:

sorry for the lack of updates lately yall, life and other hobbies tend to take over from time to time.

Got the rear 1410 yoke on the 205 and the doubler is installed. Top notch job by ORD. gonna try and get the shifters painted and installed today.

Possibly tie the crossover steering in today and also I think i finally located the right 1410 strap kit for the rear axle yoke.

I was hoping a two piece f250 shaft i had on hand was going to work, and it will for the most part but wont be fully functional, it will need a bit of length added to it before the truck is wheelable.

well, i managed to locate the right part number for the rear axle 1410 yoke strap kit, i woulda rather had the u bolts but this yoke was given to me and its made for the straps, so straps it was.

Also started bolting up the triple stick setup, ORD instructions werent much help in that this was a semi custom deal since its a 203/205 mated to a nv4500. So i had to wing it, and i think i may have it down, i need to locate two 3.5" long bolts and then start adjusting my linkages and so on.

for the time being we have an old mock up crossmember holding it all up, but very soon we need to build a crossmember that will hold the entire tranny/doubler setup togther with muliple tie in points, this is pretty much our last major fabrication piece. not looking forward to it.....

also decided as for guages on the interior that i will most likely just run a triple guage A-pillar piece, alot like you see diesl guys do. that will be my water temp, oil pressure and voltage. then ill have a seperate tack mounted at the steering column. Decided not to mess with Fitting anything inside the dash where the old guages once sat.
