I wouldn't mind having a boat like this but I've got no time and definitely no money for added hobbies on top of the crap I got going already.

Same here lol.
I have time now since I’m laid off, but normally I don’t. So I decided to use this time to get to a pint to where I can get this boat going.
I'm excited to see what the interior turns out like.

Started the day off with a ton of rain, so we ran errands until about 10:30.
I then suited up with respirator, paint suit, and face shield to start at the front of the boat.
After that I moved to the main deck area, only to get sick of all the rotted wood all over the place, so I decided to clean up everything to see where I was.
Last cut of the day with the grinder was lackadaisical to say the least, and it got away from me. Got lucky, but ruined my suit.

Was all of that ply un-treated? May be expensive but as you replace may consider putting a layer or 2 of fg matting and some epoxy resin to seal it all up nice. keep the rot at bay.
We are replacing with marine grade plywood, the glassing over it and resin. Should keep for a long time after that.
Went back out and pulled some more that I had already cut.
What do you do when you want to go boating, but your boat doesn’t have a floor? Why, you grab your dad’s boat that he’s not using.
check out advantec plywood it has a 50 year guarantee lot cheaper than marine grade

Got to the shop pretty early and started digging in. Still had quite a bit to cut out so I could start laying new wood down.
Picked this up on sale for $50. It was recommended by guy on the Facebook Bayliner group. Made a huge difference cutting, and had hardly any dust.
Tore the sundeck apart and finished cleaning up the rear.
Then got the first sheet down for the new floor. Small step, but big victory so far.

yeah picked up a saw like that a couple of years ago. use the hell out of it. a lot more than I thought I would.
Yeah I have a feeling I’ll be using it a lot more around the house.
Also, carbide bits are a must for extended uses.

Got the throttle and side panel removed. Then tore out the driver’s seat box that was rotten. The finished removing the old flooring from the same side.
Everything is cleaned up, and ready for new floor up to the helm.
I’ll be heading back to the shop with the boys later, for as long as I can take the constant questions of “what are you doing? What is that? Why are you doing that?”

My problem is sooner or later the two year old grabs something dangerous and starts giggling maniacally and running around in circles with it.

I was at the auto parts store one day. Before cell phones. Manager answers the phone, looks at me and says, "it's for you". Neighbor tells me to head to the hospital. 3 year old daughter climbed the shelves to get the drink I was hiding from her. Big gulp cup full of gas to clean the parts. Yep, she drank it. Wife was out there with her, but was chatting with the neighbor.
Wow!!! That could have been a very bad deal!
She is lucky to be alive. I have a list of her failures like that.

I thought once my daughter got older and more mature I would get more garage time but then we got the boys and she started wanting other things.
I just try to do minimum necessary but I am working on her to start helping watching the kids so her mom and I can get things done
