2 post lift. Install finally starting

First nurse that looked in my elbow seen tendon and bone. She said NOPE! And sent me to the ER.

I feel ok, but I can tell I'm gonna know I'm not 20 anymore in the morning.
X-rays, CT scan, and stitches.
Waiting on results of all of that before I can go home.
I'm sleeping in the recliner tonight lol.

I've had too many of those butt pucker moments lately. Must have been your turn. Someone was watching out for you, could have been bad.

I was standing on the rafters, getting some measurements for the box around the lift. Went to turn around, so I moved my left foot farther over on the board so I could get my right on it, then move my left to the other.
When I transferred my weight, I realized my toe was the only part I had gotten on the board. By the time that registered I was bouncing my left ribs off the top of the ladder and rushing face first to the floor. Got my arm out to shield my face and my elbow broke my fall lol

My buddy said to buy a loto ticket, but I told him I just used up my luck for the year...... he said maybe next year too lol.

Bruised and beaten.... pride smashed all over the floor.. and these stitches is all that came of it.
Not as sore as I thought I would be this morning.
But about 1:30 AM the local around my elbow wore off and HOLY CHIT! I may have lost some sleep over that :yikes::doah:

Yeah, that could have been much worse. Glad you’re ok

I getting around a lot better than I'd have thought.
Hurt pretty decent if I walk too fast too far. But really, somehow it's my arm muscles that give me the most grief. My left hurts enough I try to only do small things like hold my phone. Can't even really use it to open my truck door without pain.
Right one was that way all summer from something else and had gotten better. Now it only hurts fully extended with any weight on it.

Needless to say, with my arms the way they are, all projects are on pause for a while :notworthy:
Work on my video game skills for a while and pick things back up slowly lol.
Unfortunately, the shop roof and that box will have to be done before heater season, so I'll have to tough it out before too long.

I've already bought plywood to cover those rafters :waytogo:
Should have done that in the first place like we had planned

Well. Can't sit around all the time, so I said fuggit and did some things today. Hurt a little, but whatever. I didn't do anything super strenuous.

Half patched the ceiling. I'll do more later, but it works for now. And on top of the rafter you can just see the edge of the new plywood that should have been there before so this didn't happen.

Elbow has been the least painful part of the whole deal.
Really unless I bump the center of the stitches I don't even realize anything even happened to that arm.
Worst part is body aches all over, and my left arm has issues when I grab things or reach out/up.

And even though I didn't hit my head, I've been noticing lightheaded or vertigo spells.

So I'm just going slow.

I want to foil tape all the seams on the silver part, and over the 2x4s in there, to air seal it.
But I have to go to the top of the 6' ladder to do that, and I pretty much can't at the moment. Not that I should anyway.

Get an 8' ladder or don't do it. I am sure you could borrow one if needed.

Yeah, I have one actually, but it's at my father in laws being used. Almost an hr away.

Just got a buddy to let me borrow his a few minutes ago. Just gotta pick it up.
I'm working 12's the next 5 days and immediately switching to 2 nights after that. So it'll be a bit before I even come back to the shop.
