well the trailer hitch is finaly made . just needs paint .
started out with a ??? hitch from some ford product . I got it for free a few years ago .
then I made the template for the bottom of the frame holes and rivits to clear .
next was make a side template and tape it to the frame template. this let it swing down and make contact with the hitch and let me mark it to get the hole cut just were I wanted the hitch to sit / hang .
next was transfer all the holes to the custom made side plates . then I drilled them / cut them out and bolted them to the frame . next I slid the hitch up in and centered it and also set the level / pitch of the hitch .
I then poped on a lot of tach welds and let the whole unit cool down . next I removed it from the truck and poped it up on the bench and welded the whole thing up moving around for the welds to minimize the warping . I had the heat turned up nice & hot and fused them real good.
next I just need to cut the hole in the plate bracket and also do the hole for the trailer hitch electric plug to hide behind also .
I will also need to fab up a longer reciver for the ball to mount on cause its behind the plate a bit and reg hitch would make the ball land on the middle of the plate when flipped .
