2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Is that a u-bolt nut for your threaded bung? That's a good idea. I would add a jam nut to that unless you already have. For some reason I was thinking that it attached to the tie rod over towards the driver side farther. Maybe I'm thinking of the older F350s I'll have to do some research on that.

No, that is a threaded tube insert. And there is now a jam nut. That was one of the first mock ups. And yes, I think some of the older Ferds ran the drag link further to the LH side.

Well, we got the camper yesterday. Was supposed to pick it up Friday after work, but that's a long story to tell. But a picture for now.

My brother's big block pulled it great. A lot more stable than I thought it would be. And yes, his exhaust fell off on the way down. It was a trip from hell......even the 2nd time around :doah:

2 things.

1, it's story time. :deal:

2, it looks like you painted your truck (at first glance).

I also like the wheels on that truck.

1. It will be story time. Hopefully tonight. It's going to take a bit.

2. I don't want gold.

3? It is a really nice truck. Rust free with 140k miles. Minus the exhaust, the truck did great. It could use some bags in the rear.

I was going to say it looked a bit squatty in back.

You've been quite the accuser lately when it comes to "poo" talk being in the wrong thread.:deal:

Yep.....That's what I need to do to mine. They are straight out the back and that is going to change real soon. Very nice set up.

Thanks! I'm very happy with how the exhaust turned out.

Looks nice. Two questions. What was the cost for the shiny new exhaust pieces?

And how do you like those Coopers? They're one of the tires I'm looking at. Long-haul trips and trail riding, pretty similar to what you're doing. Except my 1/2-ton GVWR is a bunch lower. :haha:

Exhaust was $265 shipped from eBay. Aluminized so no rusting.

Cooper's seem nice so far. But they were used from my work, so they are a little cupped already and noisey.
