2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Does anyone know a simple way to calculate what the difference my mileage would be showing, now that I am running 285's? My trip odometer is now showing less miles than I know I am actually driving, and I want to try to find a way to more accurately track my miles for my MPG's.

I am aware of a simple way to calculate this. It's called "math," and it's taught in good elementary schools everywhere.

So find the % difference from my 265's to my 285's?

tire sizes.PNG

285/75R16 = 32.8" diameter
265/75R16 = 31.6" diameter

diameter ratio is 32.6/31.6 = 1.038

So 1 mile on your odometer is now equal to 1.038 miles in the real world. 100 miles = 104 miles.

This also raised your gearing accordingly.

4% difference isn't much, and there's probably more variation in your actual tire diameter (they're not very consistent across the industry). If you want to really know, measure your odometer against a GPS or count mileposts on the highway for a couple dozen miles and see how far off you are.

Your abilities to notice things in the back ground have produced some laughs in the past. However, your skills must be on a slight decline, as the last couple of pictures I have posted show the camper no longer in said "brother's truck". I have not yet mounted the camper in my truck, but will be fixing that this weekend.

As for my brother's truck, it will not be returning to him until I do an oil change and replace the water pump for him. I don't know when the water pump starting to "weep", but it was discovered under my possession so I feel I need to fix it before I return it. Plus, it's also do for an oil change, which my brother has no time for. So I wish to help him.

Yep, I must be more busier. Looking back through the thread, you do have *one* picture of the camper parked on top of a lawn mower, and *one* picture where you can kindof see the truck and the camper in different locations. I must be losing it.

Not bad. When do the bags go in?
Sorry for the delayed response on this one. The wife and I have been sick the last 2 days with a bad stomach flu.

The bags will go in as soon as they are purchased. We have tags/taxes due for vehicles next month, and a surgery for the youngest on the 1st of December. So vehicle upgrades are done until the first of the year most likely.

I will be towing with the entire setup the weekend of the 19th as we are going to Tuttle to do a little camping/wheeling trip. We will see how she fairs with both the camper and K5 in tow.

Hope the kids surgery isn`t to serious? And best wishes!

Thanks!

He's getting tubes in his ears, and some adenoids removed from his nasal passage. Nothing too serious. He's had fluid in his ears, and a running nose since he was born. Hopefully that clears all this. He has partial hearing loss from the fluid, and it's messing with this balance.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the surgery part. I'm am more worried about the bill they are going to send us. Just when we get done paying off all medical bills, something comes up.
