The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.

I am planning on adding to my house and build a very oversized 2 car wide/4 car deep garage.

Thoughts from the background:
1, that hip roof would drain better if the seams had been lined up.
On second thought, you probably don't get enough rain down there in the desert to care very much.2, I'm trying to decide whether the tracks I see are agricultural or just someone out screwing around. Probably the second one.
3, your mismatched truck bed is visible from SPACE, fer cryin' out loud. Although I do have a satellite view showing my truck before I installed the wooden floor boards (so you can see through the bed).
4, butting up to a hip roof is tricky and sub-optimal. If you just add the yellow box you will find water running toward your new shop (assuming that the shop at least equals the house height).

1. Not sure what you mean by the seams lining up. The Google picture is at a slight angle, so things may appear to be distorted.
2. Definitely not agricultural haha. Although I did notice that some of them do have quite even radiuses.
3. I know, I had the same thought. But I do believe, that now having the camper in the bed, this is no longer an aerial issue.
4. The more I think about it, the more I want it slightly back, as to access the back side of the house easier. That will also reduce noise and vibrations on the house, while working late in the garage.
So...not attached to the house?
And for your mild amusement, here is the crummy satellite picture of Big Blue with the see-through bed. Cross members but no boards in, and pre-paint (so ugly purple-grey primer that the truck came with).

Meh. Forget about it. I'm a 3D modeling engineer who also does house construction. I'm not OCD about things, but noticing out-of-place things and fixing them is a large part of my job description, at home and at work both.
Ok, that makes the roof thing easier. What is it that you want to add to the house? Or is this just your attempt to cornfuze the world?
Should have said "adding to my house by building an attached garage..." but the more I think about it, detached is the way to go.
I always thought something detached about 8-10 feet from the house would be good. Seperate the noise, but close enough to not get too wet if it is pouring rain when you decide to get back to the house
That's exactly it. Also, being that I have not 1 tree near my house, I would like to use this building as a wind block also.
