2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
So I drove the truck, cleaned off the trans, and let it sit a few days. This is what the trans looks like now.

Nothing...

Is it possible for a leak to fix itself?!?!

Was it blowing out of the breather?
I don't think so. It had been sitting for a couple weeks when the leak developed. Then over a 2 day period it seemed to get worse. Now it seems to have stopped or slowed greatly after a couple days again.

I think someone is playing a trick on me.

I think you'll be happy with the results if you can get the color close enough. I've used it on several cars, just make sure you don't skimp on the prep.

We've got our paint dept. here that's really good with matching, so I'm sure I can get close enough. Not like it's some show truck with exhaust coming through the bed or anything.

I think I'm getting close. I have almost all components needed. Most of them just need rebuilt.

1. Front driveshaft from a square body. Has play in the slip.

2. Borg Warner t-case. Failed in one of the lawn trucks. Need to pull it apart and see how bad it is.

3. Good 2wd 4L80E and buildable 4wd 4L80E core.

4. Shifter and linkage.

5. (optional) Want to upgrade the lockouts. The factory Ferd ones are terrible.

6. Rear driveshaft; Need to find a front section of a 4x4 truck to fit between the t-case and carrier bearing.
