2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
The back window had been leaking for quite some time, and I thought my tape was holding up ok, until all the rains we got over the last week hit. I went to drive the truck last week and the drivers footwell was full of water. It was at that time that I noticed some rust on the floor board. Pulled the rubber and jute from the driver’s side and found a lot more. Luckily it’s just surface rust, so I’m going to go ahead and pull it all and make sure all the rust is removed and the glass is sealed before I replace it.

They aren't Indicator lights. At least not in my truck. The indicator was in the cluster. Those were just illiumination for the shifter graphics. I guess they were kind of a mechanical indicator

That's what I was thinking too. I really don't care about the dash indicator. I just want the 4x4 shifter to light up, which it looks like it should.
Put some sound deadening down on the floor when you fix the leaks. Made a yuuuge difference
Those are the intentions once I pull the rest out. Thanks!

The factory indicator is a pain. It runs through the front axle disconnect (4wd light) and the t case(for low range light and signal to lock front axle)

If you do want it to work the easiest way is the catch the trace at the bulkhead under the fuse box and wire it up yourself. Just use a switch on the t case to ground the trace and it should be good to go.

That main driver side bulkead connector is called C100 and pin outs are pretty easy to find.

By cluster do you mean the switch on the dash for the electronic cases or a light in the gauge cluster? One plug in the floor shifter is to illuminate the shifter at night and the other one lights up when it's put into 4 wheel drive. Mine never had any indicators in the gauge cluster other than the "service four wheel drive" light, which I took the bulb out since it's useless now.

I may be mistaken, I remember there being a 4wd indicator in my gauge cluster. I never hooked it up though. I had a floor shift case. I do remember tracing and cutting out all the extra 4wd wires from the engine harness though.

No I just want the light on so I can the see the shift indicator on the floor. That's all.
By "correct" I mean the floor shift case, I forget which one you have. I had the autotrac case and swapped in the NP241, bypassed the center axle disconnect and now both lights work.
Mine is a manual shift t-case. Borg Warner.
