2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
I don't think Greg is the slowest guy here by any means. I just think he doesn't finish this part of the build, just to keep me awake at night.
There may be some truth to that. lol

But on a real note.

I am less than a year away from finally having a shop that is big enough for this turd to fit inside, and I am over doing large swaps outside and having to plan around the weather.

This truck works, I don't always need 4wd, and I hate to have it down for too long and be in the way of shop progress. Once I can get to a point, I will most likely be working on this truck, the '76, and the K5 all at the same time in the shop.

That will be a game changer. Looking forward to seeing the barn raising.

Gonna do a shop build thread? I like those almost as much as truck build threads.
Yep. Been taking pictures of the dirt/gravel work so far. The gravel pad and dirt work is mostly done, now just waiting on concrete which is 3-4 months out around here.

It will be a game changer. Even more so when I get a lift put in.

@GWeakland620 sorry to derail more, but why is there such a delay for concrete?
I am in complete amazement at that time frame. We have contractors get pissy when they can't get 100 yards on the same morning that they call, WITHOUT a preorder.
Months is ridiculous around here.

We have a shortage of cement, it all comes from China and now Europe is fighting us for it because production was shut down for a while and everyone wants some.
I am guessing that was your question.
I can't even get a quote on my jobs, no one can commit to providing the concrete if they get the contract

what size shop?
40x60 16’ ceilings

I was told the same thing.

We don't get cement powder from China here. I believe it comes out of Florence Colorado. We often get 5 to 7 railcars per week. I have never heard of it being made in China.
Fly ash is more difficult to get because of the reduction in coal burning, and the only substitute for it is more cement.

Fly ash is more expensive these days. I also think its seems weird to be getting cement out of country. Of course I generally work on government jobs with buy America acts in place.

You sure about that cement/fly ash requirement Dave? No use of pumice pozzolans out there?
