2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
I have a set of those H2s as well. They are chrome, I painted them black like those but did a better job lol. I like they way they look, specially cause the truck is black. I hope these fit tho. Truck will be SAS'd at some point, and with my other truck already SAS'd, they don't fit. They hit the crossover arm. I don't wanna run spacers, since there are some out back to match the track width up front.

Injectors are on their way out on the Duramax, and that’s the push I needed to get moving on this truck.

Started trimming and fitting carpet today and got the driver’s seat back in it. Ran out of time due to Pop’s needing help with some missing shingles on his shop.

Regardless, the ball is rolling now and this thing is headed back in to daily rotation while the Duramax is down for a little bit.

That sucks about the injectors. The manual trans white duramax I had for a short time needed injectors so I got rid of it but it had lots of other issues.

Which dirtymax is it? LB7 or a later one? I didn’t go back to find out.

If it’s an LB7 what’s the signs telling you to go for the injectors?

It’s over fueling/smoking pretty good. And it also has recently developed some injector knock. I have a buddy who is going to hook up his scanner first to make sure before I dig in though.

Also it’s an LB7.

Ok. If he can look at the injector balance rates that will point you at the offending injector(s). You are looking for outliers. Large negative numbers mean that the cylinder is over-fueling and it's trying to take away fuel. I'd check the oil level too. I've seen leaky injectors wash down the cylinders so much there's fuel in the oil. The worst being so much it was full to the top of the crankcase vent on the front of the block. It was actually puking fuel/oil from it. We drained it and it overfilled a 5 gallon bucket. That's a lot more than the 10 quarts they usually have.

Even if you find only one or two injectors with high rates I'd still replace them all.

My buddies dad's dmax did the overfilling thing. It was full to the brim and coming out where ever it could. It did survive though.

That one we had at the shop was fine after it got fixed. Of course it was a case of coming in for something else unrelated. He took it home after we did the repair for something on the suspension. A couple weeks back he noticed the fuel/oil mix puking from the engine and looked under it to investigate. What he thought he saw was a big square patch of rtv on the bottom of the pan. He accused us of breaking his oil pan and covering it with rtv and now our “patch” was leaking.

Had to break it to him the “patch” was factory applied sound deadening material to the pan and the oil was coming from the top of the block and running down everywhere. Had to play show and tell and yank the dipstick to show him the oil level. I asked him how long had it been smoking at idle and he said for the last year at least. Duh.

So I fixed a leaking rear tire, and finally replaced the dead batteries today. I also looked into why the AC has not been working. I hooked up a gauge, and it pegged at over 150 on the low side. Did an evac and recharge, and the system held pressure and did not leak. After about 15min of idling the compressor shut off and the AC got hot. I checked the pressure and it was pegged at 150 again. Any ideas what could be causing this system to over pressurize?
