The Allison sucks HP/TQ quite a bit more than the 80E. Once you address the air in/exhaust out problems, then get it tuned, you will gain enough fuel mileage and power to justify it.

It made 380? HP and 520ftlbs with a tune? Runs hard, sat in my yard needing tires, tree fell on it twice and now it needs a windshield (getting tomorrow), rockers and a box. It started right up and I am sure it would likely go on a long trip after a few services. Not sure what to do with it. Honestly it pulled everything I ever wanted and hauled me to college for 2 years. Build a crawler adventure truck, keep it for pulling though ugly, sell it and profit? I still love it but it needs lots of love.
Rockers suck to fix in the extended cabs! They have a internal brace to keep the cab stiff that the crew doesn’t have. I’ve done both.
