2004 Colorado Mid-travel IFS wheeler(preparing for dunefest)

I've always wanted to build a straight axle Colorado. They're good looking trucks.

This thing is neat man, it would be super bitchin with a 5.3l and some fiberglass fenders.

Straight axle would be way easier than this, that's what I planned to do with the Colorado I had in high school before I sold it.

Pretty much everyone that sees it says it needs a 5.3 lol. I just don't know if I could fit one. As it is the front diff has maybe 1/2 inch of clearance to the oil pan. I suppose I could do a custom oil pan if required.

I would really like some fiberglass fenders but then I would be worried about bashing them off trees on trails, I like to use this for all kinds of wheeling.

Hope to get back working on it soon.

Not much of an update, but a little progress has been made on the shop so that might make it a little easier.

Got my hoist set up after having it almost a year. Also got heat working in the shop for the winter. The Colorado is on the hoist now but not much time to work on it with my house remodel taking way too long.
