2006 Build up

how much did your PSC steering goodies cost? who'd ya get them from?

btw, you sure you want a 700R4 behind a 454?

To be honest, I can't remember how much i payed for my psc ram and orbital but they were very comparable price wise with the compation. I bought them right from PSC. If I were to do it again I would get my ram and parts from Station off the pirate board. His clevis ends are much nicer, the ones I got from PSC can only hold a 5/8 heim and are a pain to tighten up where Stations you can get either clevis ends for a 5/8 heim or 3/4 heim and bolt on much nicer.
As for my 700r4, I'm confident in my tranny builder and as long as I take care of it it should hold up just fine.

here are a couple more pics of the Blazer as it sits now.
Pics include:
NWF Drive flanges/ steering arms
Bobby longfield U-joints
My air set up
the ram set up (by the way what a pain it was setting that up with a leaf spring set-up)

heres a couple more of the under carriage:D
And the orbital mounted weree the steering box used to be.
If you look close enough you can see I used checker plate to mount the orbital:doah: it's all I had when it came time to build and mount it.

LOL.
If you look close enough, you can see the tube is welded to the diff cover and then bolted to the diff tube in 2 places. Incase you are wondering the diff cover isn't stock, it's from great lakes fab. (1/4 thick)
I will get some better shots of it today.

That stuff looks great! Any pics of the whole truck?

Heres a better picture of the ram mount. In this picture you can see how it's welded to my greatlakes offroad diff cover and then bolted to the tube in 2 different places.

cool beans. I know Shawn at GLO and have his covers front and rear on my rig. I think I may have been the one to intro him to ck5 actually... I mentioned that he should be a vendor here waaay back when he first started selling covers over on Pirate. Good guy, good covers. Dig the ram mount. I'm gonna have to figure out a different way though... reverse highsteer... doh!

awesome rig, really dig the "overall look" of it. Nothing seems out of place... everything seems well thought-out from a build plan perspective. :thumb:

do you have the 63's mounted normal or backwards? how did it effect your axle location? im thinkin bout going with 63's in back this summer, but want to keep my axle as close to the stock location as possible. like i said, im planning most of the stuff you have done, call me a copycat if youd like, but ur truck is just badass!

lol. Thanks.
I ran my 63" springs backwards. Not sure if all are like mine or I just found a uncommon set. from one end to centre pin it is 31" and from the other end to the centre pin its 32.5".
I ran it this way to push my diff back some but not to much as it would hit my gas tank if i go back anymore.

so roughly how much did that move the rear axle back?
Just doing the math in my head and without looking at it, I'd say the rear diff is moved back between 4 and 5 inches.

Double ended rams run anywhere from 250 up , I paid 300 for mine from PSC

how about arms and rod ends?
I bought my steering arms from NWF. Those guys are awsome. I had my tye rods made up by a local machine shop and I just bought some cheap heims while I wait for my good ones to arrive.
