I believe this was done but not sure. Also, no pictures last night when we got home because about one hour into our 10 hour drive we totally lost 5th gear in the Dodge and drove 14.5 hours home at 55 mph. Used one extra tank of fuel and made for a very long drive. By the time we made Bakersfield the tranny was make noise in all gears but held together to make it home. Este will be posting tons of pictures of plaque and trip once he is rested and had time to catch up with his family.

That is a beautiful plaque, Mr. Payne.
The hood was off the limo a couple times. Were there problems?? Was that a bent tie rod??
I gotta aske this one--Dood, is that peanut butter on the bacon???? If so, I sure hope that is Elvis holding it cause that is the only person that should eat that.

I agree, plaque turned out great and I had a lot of help with it.
Hood Up - We had an electrical butt connection vibrate loose and everyone jumped in, found the problem and we went on. No bent suspension parts of any kind, the total problems with the truggy consisted of the electrical butt connection, one battery terminal loose, the fan / steering belt was slipping (we need a new tensioner but could not locate prior to leaving for Moab) and one of the front link ball joints went bye bye.
All in all, Truggy went anywhere it was pointed and proved itself very capable and did its designer / builder proud.

I am glad that everything went well, with very few problems. Really shows how strong Jason's skills were, that people can come in and finish it, and it is just as capable as if Jason had done it himself.
Great pics! Looks like dodge is the tow rig of choice around there...

Funny you mention that. This trip it was almost all Dodge tow rigs with Chevy wheelers.

Nah, it was good to go up until them. I can't complain about the trip out. It flew up some hills that my previous tow rigs would have thrown a fit on the side of the road.

I SURVIVED THE HAMMERS and when I challenged JR to a night race he said he would have to pass; I know he was shaking in his boots. But there was a moment along Sledge Hammer that something very loud, spitting sand in all directions and what seemed to be florescent green in color went by me but I’m not sure what it was; just another Hammer’s UFO! http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?p=9289031&posted=1#post9289031
We ran Claw Hammer as a warm up and the only problem was it took hours because of Toyota pickups that were stuck, winching and with blown tires impeding our progress. Nice bunch of guys but finally four of our group of twelve rigs passed the Toys and after waiting about an hour for the rest of our group to find a place to pass, the four of us left behind a major traffic jam at the waterfall and completed Claw. We went from there to Sledgehammer where we proceeding to work our big long rig through all the obstacles; that is after observing the UFO. By the time we made it to the top of Sledge it was time for desert racing back to camp witch was completed as darkness set in.
That lead to JR showing up and cowardly backing away from the challenge of the big Camo Rock Star Limo; with him tucking his rear steering under him and slithering off into the night (after asking if we knew where his camp was and being pointed in the right direction). Shuck’uns, that’s funny no matter who you are!
We made it home about midnight making it a 20 hour day but a great day at that and NOTHING BROKEN! I forgot to mention that we had no Fun Buggy sightings, seems Fred Williams was under the weather this weekend and couldn't meet up with us.

Happy Birthday son, it seems strange not running around trying to find the perfect tool that you need and don’t already have. I remember your last Birthday when I searched for a Milwaukee (0928-23) 28 Volt Combo Kit you could take on the trails and it came in three days after your Birthday (a real bummer). I know you used it some on your job with Croad Electric and your friends used it once while installing your plaque along the Gold Bar Rim. A lot has happened and changed but some things have not changed; mainly how much your mom and me love and miss you. Your second mom and dad; Martin and Patti, now have Croad Vineyards open and it is beautiful; even though Martin had to wire everything without you. Patti still thinks about you daily and really needs you back running the electrical company. Your mom is still the strong silent one that you took after and I’m still the whimp that cries regularly as I’m doing now trying to write this (dam allergies). The guys from NorCalBigDawgs and SoCalBigDawgs are getting together the 13 through 16 of August for the first annual Dozer/Willyswanter Memorial Run on the Rubicon Trail. This replaces the Fall Rubicon trip you put together each year and this year the guys will be placing the second plaque at the lake (I’m not attending this trip – sorry). Your mom is waiting to see what you do for her for your birthday; she’s been remembering the white dove that all of a sudden appeared in the yard and spent the day following her; never seen before or after your Birthday last year. Oh I forgot it seems your mom (with Esteban’s help) is moving me again, she made an offer on a house and they went and accepted it. I’ve told Esteban it is his responsibility to move your shop! Love you son, please come visit me again soon, I really need it.
