Achievement unlocked: Sweet, sweet bureaucracy compliance.

Well fellers, I'm officially legal now.
Also added a Bluetooth FM transmitter so I can hear my tunes. The 9C1 cop spec Caprices have a terrible sounding stereo with only AM/FM/CD turned on in the head unit. All other features from the Aussie spec cars are programmed off, like Bluetooth, navigation, backup camera, remote start, etc.
I could ship out my head unit to a company in Michigan and have it reprogrammed to have these features for $150, but this little kajigger only cost me $15 on Amazon and will hopefully sound good enough for now.
I mostly listen to the same music I've listened to for the last 10-25 years and Conan O'Brien's podcast over the warbling of the X-piped ZL1 mufflers, so it's not like I need a high end system.

While it is nice to be legal and all, but I bet the PPV vehicle could have driven around with no tags for a long time with out notice.
About 15 year ago my buddy had an unmarked Crown Vic PPV He drove that thing like a Mad man. never even got a second look Some how an LAFD arson photographer had this car purchased as a private vehicle with a LAFD order for 40, still not sure how this was done. Well it seems the car attracted to much attention from the low lives in his neighborhood so my buddy was able to it. Was as close to a cop car as ever was. Even came with a Motorola LAFD channels though.

They still pull you over. NM hwy patrol got me doing 90 in my PPV. It's even a black and white. He came right across the median to pull me over.
Oregon doesn't care about car regs, they stopped caring in 2020.
They don't much care about expired or non existent plates in Portland, it's true. But I'd rather avoid giving the cops an easy reason to pull me over if they ever do get bored.

So apparently I bought one of these when I was out of town this weekend.
I put in a kinda low bid at a local online auction here in Denver and just got an alert that I "won" the auction.
I can't pick it up until Wednesday. I don't know much about it other then it should be a driver, has a 6.0 and is a 9DC1 model.

I assume except for the wheels and cat back exhaust it is all stock. I need to figure out if it has already been dod deleted, if not that will be the first order of business.
Looks like it's seen some action.
Besides the DOD delete, I'd recommend getting a manual shift box. Just 3 little buttons that make it much more fun to drive.

Update: I got a set of SS (just SS, not a Camaro SS) wheels last night for a song. 19x8.5 and 19x9 staggered set, but the 2 tires it came with are the wrong size.

The kid has been really getting into cars lately and wanted to help change the oil. He did a great job with minimal instruction!
He's got a ton of ambition and drive when it's for something he wants to do, like work on his bicycle, the Jimmy, video games, etc. School, not so much.
