Finished getting it together late last night. Just waiting for permatex to cure. Wanted to do a new gasket, but I cant get it until tomorrow, so permatex will do.
99% sure this will fix the leak. Steal shim gasket had the black sealing material pushed out on 2 sides.
About 3pm I'll fill with coolant, heat cycle it, and keep fingers crossed.

Or you can do like a certain memorial trophy winner that drives a 454 suburban and spend most of night doing a test and tune in the campground then up and down the highway just outside of camp trying to get your fuel injection right.
The running back and forth didn't bother me, but the backfiring woke me up out of a deep sleep.

I still remember the original miniwally with the cooling fan you could hear coming up the trail long before anything else.....
