3/4 ton axles and breakage.

If you are still running a full time transfer case you probably don't have lock out hubs, you have a flange in there that will be stronger than any replacement hub you can buy. If you convert to part time 4wd then that is when you will have to convert if you want to get the fuel economy benefits. I have seen people run the flanges even with part time 4wd in a trail only truck.

It's bone stock right now.... full time 4 wheel drive... so that's a strong setup?I'm not really too concerned with converting it to part time, the only think I dislike about the full time function, is that I can't cut doughnuts and take curves like I could if it had 2wd..

The 203 transfer case will take quite a bit of abuse. Some of the earlier ones had trouble with the chain stretching, but the 78 I had was still OK at 200000 miles. The biggest issue with full time 4wd is the friction of all the front driveline parts turning all the time, and the loss in fuel mileage and extra wear on the parts. On a truck that was not driven a lot of miles every year, I wouldn't convert it to part time, but thats just my personal opinion. Others would disagree.
