I was kinda consideing the 35 with 3.08s but not now
my k10 is a dog with 31s couldnt imagin 35s the 30slow dosent help

I run 33"s with a 6" lift, and I dont think it looks funny. I haven't met anyone else who thought it looked funny either, especially that guy with the CUCV on 35"s who couldn't follow me out of the creekbed! LOL! My vote is for 33"s, cause you will def need gearing for larger tires, and more tire means more engine and more gas and more money and more work and... you get the point...

i would go with 35s. i was running a 21/2 lift and i had to trim a lil but i had the 2.73 gears and a pos 305 no power but if u just drive it on the street it will do alright but deffently regear soon and keep and eye on trani temps cus it will deffently put sum nice heat build up in the r4

theres more factors than just tire size
i think a 6in lift with only 33's on a K truck is a bit excessive unless u have some extreem flex
im not trying to bash you or anything just wondering if you are saying you'd rather have 33's than 35's

No offense taken, but actually, in my situation, I would rather have 33's with my lift and let me explain why. #1 - when i got the K5 a few months ago I set a budget, and the ole gal needed some suspension work and engine maintenance to be trail worthy, so that put installing gears and bigger tires/wheels out of the question. #2 - most of the guys I run with wheel mid size suv's (Jeeps, Samuri's) and the places we go here in KY/IN have REALLY tight trails. Not only would a 35 be wider than a 33, but would decrease my turning radius. I like to wheel with my friends, and I liked the idea of a full-size rig, so that's why I chose this setup. #3 - I like to have lots of flex, just in case. here is a link to some pics of the rearend (skyjacker) flexin her stuff.

So, to make a long story short, I chose 33"s mostly because of cost to me, ease of tight trail wheelin, and flex I get in combo with 6" of lift. Plus I can keep up with the guys not only on the trail but on the highway with my stock 350/TH350/NP203 setup. Hope that explains it a little better.

i say 35's BUT i dont like BFG's ive had horrible luck with quality and longevity.
i have had them in the past ill admit but i have had three that separated a belt or two and two more that blew up (sidewall damage)
and not even from hard wheeling ( as if a BFG could do hard weelin)

but ya go 35's if your gunna get them
LUKE

35's. But 4.10's would really help. my 89 is 2" suspension, 1" body and 35's (with 4.10's) tires rub a little in the front on "twisted" turns. I have my tires on 8" rims. helps keep them under the truck more.

Well i have 33s and i think 3.08s but i think i might have different gears because my truck puts me in my seat when i stomp on the gas at a green light.

BTW i will find out wat gars i have in a couple of days .

I SAY GO 33s

Thread from the dead!!!!!
If he hasn't figured it out in 2 years, he should pick another hobby.

i wouldnt go bigger till u swap axles or just dont wheel it till u swap axles. ive got a busted rearend w/ stock suspension, not lift, and 33x12.5 BFG muds. now im just tryin to save money to upgrade axles and run some 37+

1/2 ton axles shopuldn't have any problems with 33's but 35's will be starting to push it.

Not saying that 33's with a torquey motor and a heavy foot couldn't break things though...

With 3.08s either is gonna be a dog, but I have 33's, and wish I had 35s. 32 allterrains if you can't regear, otherwise 35s and 4.10/4.56s gears

Skinny 33's fit stock. Sounds like you have more room you may as well use.

Besides, once you get 33's on there, about a week goes by and you wish you'd gone bigger.

With your 3" body lift I'd go with the 33's. I think 35's and 3" lift may look a little....unproportional. Also you do not have to trim anything with this combination. If you go with 35's you will have to trim. I'd go with 35's only with a lift of minimum 4". Also gear ratio will matter. I have 35's with stock gear ratio on my 79 K5. I have more power under my hood, but still I can feel it is a big difference to 33's. So I ordered 4,56 gears which will bring me back to even shorter ratio than with stock tyres. Isn't really fun to drive a slow cow...

33 if DD and highway speeds but 35 if small town short distance DD think 35 might need gears to work best no cut can provide the gear differents
both sizes do great on road any speed
