3D Printing Projects - Truck parts and tools

Makerworld is a dangerous place to scroll after a couple of drinks. The amount of time and work that went into some of the things on there is incredible to me.

Which you reminded me, I need to print a waste bucket. I looked behind mine the other day and it looks like a mound of rat turds back there.

That was supposed to be your first print... maybe second, after the benchy.
 
What is a benchy?

Oh, my ADD kicked in and instead of a waste bucket I found a Harry Potter book end I’m printing for my daughter instead.
 
Well this Harry Potter doll has kicked my ass. First I couldn’t get the machine to purge. Dunno why but got that fixed.

Started printing and started getting filament feed failures. Try different filaments and spools and nothing. It would just get out of the AMS and stop but you could hear a motor running. Went to Bambu’s website and found an article on cleaning the internal hub motor. Go to take it apart and found this. IMG_6112.jpegIMG_6113.jpeg
Got a ticket in but don’t know if it’ll be warrantied or what I can order to replace it but for now I’m back to single spool capability.

Common issue. You can print your own.

 
Anyone have a source on the font used for the Silverado/Custom Deluxe/Scottsdale badges in the 81-87 vintage? I'm looking to have a set of those map pocket cupholders printed and the inserts provided don't have any designs I love. I'm wanting to make a Silverado badged one, but scratching my head on what font GM used for that.
 
I have no idea on the Silverado font, I am sure someone with graphics experience could make you the correct file.

But you reminded me, I wanted to design and print some tig rod separators and I checked and sure enough, maker world already had one for my rod guard tubes.

I printed them out of PC FR.

I plan to keep adding to the badges on them but haven't had time to work on them with the weather being nice. I have a start on it and will update when I have them ready.

I have updated the badge print profile to include the 80s Scottsdale and Silverado text
 
@kennyw , what's the intended installation hardware? I used the stock screws up top, then added a plastic insert to the lower hole from the pocket. I was able to install a screw there with a Z screwdriver. The 4th hole, behind the cupholder, got a cut down tree clip to add a little vertical support.

They are designed to use the original two screws at the top and two printed dowel pins at the bottom. Basically the same way GM mounted the map pocket.
