3D Printing Projects - Truck parts and tools

I wish someone would make a deeper cup holder insert for the 81+ center consoles. I know there’s a taller one available but I’d prefer something that was flush and deeper.
It is technically on my list of projects, I just haven't hit a point where it made it to the top yet.

Justin Biddle makes these.

I’ve seen them but I’d prefer to have something deeper than have it taller than the surface, I’ll probably raise the console some (probably using Biddles brackets) and it seems like the taller cup holders would feel wrong or in the way if I was holding the shifter while driving.

I agree, deeper would be better, I have a consol but ill probably never use it unless I build a Blazer or Burb

I want a decent condition blue one but they’re either real expensive or cost too much to ship.

Another one stealing my designs.

Thats so annoying.

I designed and printed this 2 piece clamp to mount my Holley ProDash into a carbon fiber bezel applique.

It tilts the screen back 15 degrees so its easier to read like the stock gauges vs just clamping flush.

The bezel applique I had CNC routered from carbon fiber.

I printed it out of ASA so it was somewhat strong and UV resistant. With 3D printing I was able to make it contour the prodash outline extremely well and also clearance the clamp in the back for the ribs on the factory dash bezel I cut the opening out of.

I also 3D printed the little angled finish washers out of ASA, this was stronger as the screws help support the applique instead of being behind it and only glued on.

The tilt is a great idea. The factory clusters were always kind of angled wrong. Why not print something to go on the left and support a RAM mount for a phone or something along those lines? So much empty space to work with.

That's still in the works, not sure where I will put it yet. I bought a simple spring loaded phone clamp for a tripod mount I can 3D print a mount for that somewhere, either on the left or possibly where the AC vent is if I ditch the AC system. Of course it would need to be angled toward me like the dash screen since I use it for bluetooth, etc.

I doubt they ever made a non AC version of the late model double DIN radio style gauge bezel.
