4.21 UPDATE Topless Suburban on Rocks - NARROWED Front ROCK

IGOR said:
Sorry - I don't have any interior pics -

We left the Suburban inside shell alone - and only cut the outside sheetmetal off the Blazer tub. Then simply cut the Sub inner sheetmetal down far enough until we could rest the Blazer outer sheetmetal on it at the right height.

Hope that helps...

Here are some more pics...

how much lift was on that? 10" and 39.5's?

Well I got a truck tailgate to bolt up and close........all of the gaps are golden....I also started welding the Blazer sheetmetal to the Suburban....

I also ordered the hubs and rotors for my 60 from gmpartsdirect.com, they came in today.....yeeHAW!!!

Well guys, plans have changed.

I have bought a few special suspension brackets in the past few months....

I picked up my 50" Michelins on Monday and I have decided to ditch my Dana 60 & 70U for Rockwells. Thanks a ton JIMBO.....he actually convinced me I needed Rockwells....not Dana's....I knew I did, but I was scared...he...he

I have also got my hands on a 1985 C65 for $1500....well that is what he wants for it...it has the fiberglass tilt front clip and the guy thinks it is gold, but they are kinda hard to find......

Sooooooooooo, I am buying the whole truck to get the front clip to transfer over to the Suburban............

I hope to use the rockwelss in their STOCK state as much as possible.....apparently I need to flip one set of hubs and have a negative offset wheel built to suck the tires closer to the body....

Oh yeah I almost forgot....a good friend that I met over at texas4x4.org is going to help me enlarge the fenderwells.....the right way.....I do want this truck to look as good as it performs (he owns a body shop) We plan on stretching the outer wheel wells up about 4 inches and forward and back approximately 5"......

Again, I am trying to lift this vehicle as little as possible for the 50" tires......

Yeah, I know, it's still going to be a massive lift, but I have some tricks up my sleave....... a little here, a little there and I will be exactly where I need to be.....

Pics soon to follow.......

Well, I changed the title, and am going to be a lemming and follow the likes of Manny et al. Here's my thread.

It has changed paces the last few months due to the fact that I am going with Rocks and I found a fiberglass C60 tilt front clip, that I want to put on.....

We'll see......

EDIT: OOPS, I posted the wrong pic, but this is a cool burb too.

lol thats not cool, now you can kill 7 people atonce instead of just five..:eek1: :haha:

To answer a question that was asked last year I am doing the same deal sort of I want to keep the Sub's barn doors so I'm going to cut them in half and build a top for them and probally make a soft top for it. If there was some way to get the Blazer top to fit I am going to but I don't think the lines are going to line up very well. I may look into a pickup truck shell or something cuz I like the idea of it being warm and more theft resistant.

I also have a set of half barn doors, that are not finished and I have the upper halves as well. If you were closer they would be yours.

I should be picking up a 2nd set of michelins with Rockwell wheels and another np205 in the next few weeks.......

I just tapped my 2wd steering box and this pic show a better place to tap for the upper line:

Here's a pic when I removed the 2wd suspension:

Well, the wife is pregnant and I just got out of the hospital with kidney stones, so this is going slower than I like.
