I wonder if it would be wrong to get those even if i have no intention to go prerunning:D

TRAZER?!

Anyone know if an older body style - '69 or '70 truck cab will fit a later model frame, like '80s?

THANKS

Hard time finding presmog pickups...how about a presmog K5 with a halfcab? Can anyone clue me in...they only make/made them for 1st gens, or later too?
Any and all info helps. A picture is worth a thousand words. Especially on the internet.

Thanks.

All Pre-smog K5s are full Conv. The half cab did not start until 76 which requires smog.

Dangit. No matter what I do, it's gonna be a ton of work to have a decent street/trail truck. The blazer is running and driving with working AC but no w/shield or doors (don't fit, cab smashed). What would you do with a good drivetrain in a wrecked truck?

The options I have in mind:

1: Cut Blazer body off except dash/firewall and graft truck cab on. Have '81 C3500 cab I could use, don't want to register as that, would have to smog and registration might be a pain. Exo

2: Swap Blazer body for '73-'75 cab and register as that - need to find one. Exo

3: Swap entire drivetrain into '73-'75 truck. Exo

4: Bluggy = hack top of K5, build cage, screw plexiglass to it, go wheelin', forget about AC and doors. I'm leaning towards this, as it's the least work, and I tend to beat the pee outta stuff anyway. Later stretch WB, hack off blazer back, put on stepside bed or flatbed or something. Hmmmm, maybe skin the cage with C3500 cab. There's an idea.

5: Use brother's CUCV to swap drivetrain, dash, AC into. Paperwork, smog, reg headache. Exo

VOTES or any IDEAS anyone? Much obliged.

If you can why not do the full convertable onversion and cut off the entire windshield frame and replace it with the 73-75 style and get some 73-75 doors as well.

That's a good idea, but the cab is bent out of shape too bad. Doors are a no go. There is a rollbar built into the cab and it transferred the force of the flip to the body/mounts. The seats lean out when you look at it from the rear. The door jam/sill area is wrinkled out of shape from it. The seats are tearing out of the floor...
