465 Questions

I got to messing around with mine this morning and a lot of my noise is coming from the tcase sifter. But its like yall are saying when i downshift i can hear the syncros winding up but its stubbern to get into gear. My tranny has sat for a while so and i have to put in some sound deadener around the boots and see what happens.

Well double clutching helped a hell of a lot with my down shifting problem.

I think I will change the fluid and run a lighter gear oil in it, but a heavier weight than 50w.

My 465 used to be a PITA to shift, especially on those mornings hovering around 0. I chenged the fluind in the 205 and in the 465 and put Valvoline Synthetic 75w-140 in it and what a HUGE difference that made..plus it was quieter to boot. I am due for a full service oril change (the D60, 465, 205 and 14bff) and I am gonna try Royal Purple 75w-140. For some reason, it is quite a bit cheaper than the Valvoline stuff. The Royal Purple stuff is like $9.50 a qt...

Thanks for the info i'm gonna try a few things. I'll let you know how it turns out.
