4wheel discs, FOUND PERFECT MASTER CYLINDER!!

Just picked up the MC tonight. I will see tomorrow if it fits under the hood. there is no hood pad on it now but I have a brand new to put on there. I just have to go get it from a friends body shop that ordered it for me.

Got the rear bracket from DIY4X just need to get the other parts to finish this.

What size studs did ya'll use in the rear?

Got the MC on tonight. It does fit under the hood.

Looks like there is still room for the new GM hood pad I have to install.

lol did you climb up and get cozy with the engine for that pic? or are you light in the front :)

My bet is camera delay, get the hood shut before the light stops flashing. =) I've got to rememebr that trick.

Just did this on my 3/4 ton 88 suburban with an 85 dana 60 front and 2007 14 BFF rear with factory disk brakes. Had to cut off the factory hood brace and bend the hood up slightly since it's flexible now. Ran out of daylight to bleed the brakes, so not sure how much improved they'll be just yet. Old factory master failed and the pedal hit the floor, glad I didn't hit anyone :P

I cross referenced the first number and ended up with part number: 13-2754 which is a brand new master cylinder instead of a reman'd one. It was $126 for the part no core obviously. Here's the link from advance auto parts.

hope this helps you guys in the future. I'll update this when I bleed them tomorrow, hoping the pedal gets much firmer because it was soft before from the larger pistons on the calipers.

glad to see this still getting some use :) its still working great for me, and ive gone on several 300+ mile round trips

I did this swap a few months ago and it works well for me as well. But there are no hood clearance issue's with my 89 :D

OMG.....Thats a long story

I bet that sig is corrected in short order - And, his truck is fine now (no intervention of your reply intended, Recon! ).

I have to bring ths one back after saving this for a couple years I finally did the conversion, and I'm having a few issues. First is it neccessary to hook it up backwords so the porportioning valve works correctly?

Mine wouldn't hook up back wards and it works fine. Good solid front brakes under heavy braking with light rear lock up

different people report different things Trea. Some go to discs and that's it. Some do a master cylinder, and yet more, some do an aftermarket prop valve with separate hardline to the fronts.

In my garage are all of the above. :)

Excellent timing bumping this thread back up! Just ordered one from Napa to go on my Tahoe. Since I got the ABS unit all full of air, it is going in the scrap pile and an aftermarket disc/disc adjustable prop valve is going on.

Thanks!

I attempted to knock this out this morning but MC did not bolt up to m 73' booster. The bore in the MC is larger. I ordered an 84' booster and I think this will work. My reasoning is that MuddyBuddy said it bolted right up to his factory 88' Booster. I cant use an 88' booster cuz it bolts to the firewall using four studs. However OffRoadTek said his bolted right up to his 84' stock booster. I think thats the last year of the 6 hole bolt pattern mount style booster which I have. I let you know for sure tomorrow.

I put this MC on and it feels like there isn't enough stroke. The pedal comes to a very hard end, instead of a "compressed" end. I'm going to try a 1985 K30 MC, same year as the blazer.

Ok, so I just got back from Napa. The 84' booster is almost perfect. "Almost" because the rod is 1" shorter than my 73'-75' booster rod. I have some adjust on the valve operating rod but Im not sure its enough. We are only talking an inch shorter. Im sure I can gain a 1/2" with adjustment at the valve operating rod, so at worst my pedal will be about 1/2" closer to the floor. Right? I have never messed with this **** before but I think less is better than more in this situation.
