6.2 rattle

I found the thread Massboy had posted here--I guess it is the pulley assembly that is rubber dampened and bolts to the harmonic balancer, not the balancer itself that is different..

86' Harmonic Balancer/ Rubber Isolated 3 groove pulley

Deep down I have this tiny shred of hope that a shot pulley is the real issue with Dad's farm truck. It's not finger loose like the one posted above, but I'm intrigued by the thought of the rubber slipping. Hadn't thought of that before.

Most of the owners or former owners of 6.2's I have talked with say the same thing --It's when it STOPS rattling, that you have to worry--especially if it stops with a "CLUNK".......

Lately my pickup seems more "buzzy" than usual--the dash, cab and things inside vibrate quite a bit, feels like the motor mounts are solid steel to the frame...could be the front exhaust pipe I had to replace,it was a tight squeeze between the T-case and frame rail, cross member..gets annoying after awhile..hope its not the balancer or the engine getting ready to take a :poo:..
