Im getting ready to mount some 63" springs on the rear of my 89 jimmy, for those that have done this swap how far forward have you moved your front spring eye centerline?

I want to keep relatively stock wheelbase and rear tire centered in the wheel well.

just a fyi there 64" NOT 63" why everyone gets them wrong i dont know.

anyways there is a few here who have done this and posted good pics. if i recall body mount mods needed by floor pan drop/lift area behind driver/pass seats.

i would link you to there build thread but dont recall off hand sorry.

Thanks for the info on length. I can see modifying the body mount bracket but what part of the pan are people modifying?

If anyone has some good pics id like to see some. Most of what I find the wheelbase has been changed.

each hanger center mark needs to move basicly 6" out from stock mounting.

easyer on front than rear. with bumper and or short frame rail ends.

Move the front buckets to the next set of holes centered up with the crossmember. Like this. Here's my 73'. As you can see I added gussets to the frame brackets that support the crossmember. I also capped the bucket with a pieve of plate I bent to match the shape.

i cant see your pictures. any idea what the measurement is?

i guess six ish is close from my mock up atleast to get me started. i will have to see where the springs settle to.

Good grief. Did you powdercoat your frame? That looks better than a brand new truck.

Good ol' rattle can paint job :D. Krylon hammertone silver. Worst paint I have ever used.

well the swap has begun. I removed the old front hanger and body mount.
I made a template of the hoe pattern and have begun designing the front mount.

Does anyone see any issues sharing the spring hanger and body mount in one bracket?

Weird idea here, bear with me people. Will a B52 front work for the hanger in the rear front? Just throwing an idea out there.

I highly doubt it. But Kert does sell just the bottom part of the b52 (the part where the spring bolts in) with several holes in it for adjustment. That would be pretty handy for this project I think

got a little more done. im definetly going to need to make some changes to the file but getting a better idea of where things will land.

interesting, I like it and will be lurking in the shadows :)

Oh also, Rob's picture of his frame and beautiful paint job is photoshopped. I was just over at his house and his garage was NOT teal colored!!!!!!:D

What are those rear springs from? I have a pair of 64's in the shop and they don't have the military wraps on them.
