Its already bored and stroked….327 + .030 bore + .230 stroke = 355!While those bearings are out, I'd pair them with a stroker crank![]()
Is that at Lane automotive? There is a 396 SBC on sale at my distributor not far from you...![]()
YesIs that at Lane automotive?

That 396 is what is in my '57 Dave...Right now I can actually sell the complete version (BP3961CTC) $100 cheaper than that long block, the long block isn't on sale
There is a 400 cid 508 HP long block for $6900.
A 427 is quite a bit more because it needs a Dart block, those are ~$7300 just for a shortblock.
Normally shipping would be more but you could pick it up, except the 427, that might not be in stock in MI.
I see lots of metal
It looks stout! That 396 is what is in my '57 Dave...
Made 519 hp and 528 ft/lbs of torque.
I am sure this is much better than the 396 bbc I got even with being bored out to 402 ciI see lots of metal
396’s came in corvettes. You know what you need to do
They do their own blocks and heads. There’s a video about their plant. It looks stout!
I see the major pieces are “Blueprint”.
I wonder who does their cranks, rods, pistons etc, as I don't think they have their own foundry?
Do you know what pieces are in it for…
Rod bolts
Cam manufacturer
Lifter manufacturer
