64 Vette….Rebuild 2.0

Well, changing the barometric pressure to match your previous density altitude of around 300 ft puts your ET at 11.99 @ 116, right on the edge. You get better air than that, you can more easily be in the 11s.

It seems your 60 fts were better when you were launching at a higher RPM. How was the oil and trans temp? warmed up?

Typically if you load the converter more on the launch your 60 ft and ET both improve but your MPH can suffer a tad, if your tires can hold it. What RPM can you hold the engine too with your footbrake and the new converter? What pump cam you have? If you have 30 cc pumps I would put the pink cams on.

Those are fun runs Dave, nice track day! Hope you had a blast!

So many changes to take place in pursuit of the 11 run.
i didn’t try any higher than 1800 for a launch. Looking at the Brawler info…31 squirters and I assume 30cc pump shot. I dont think they really the 50’s. Bolted it on out of the box, and only changed the rear squirter. I think it has 72/82 for jetting by looking at the specs.
not sure if the convertor is helping or not. I figured maybe the DA was slowing it some compared to those -280 to 500’ runs from 10/22. The car doesn't feel any different on launch. Several launches in the 1500-2000 range feels no different, but perhaps showed up on the 60’…hard to decipher it all. I think dyno pulls would be the best tuning device.

Ditch the headers!?!? That just sounds so wrong coming from the drag racers, until you think about what class they are in. Its still astonishing how fast they get through exhaust manifolds and stock tires.

Its funny too….Pennington (67 L-88 recoed holder) called out the Hemi guys to build a Hemi powered Dart built by Barton/Wescott/Kaase…whoever to take on the Vette. Waving the FAST rules of factory produced as the Hemi Darts were built by Hurst. Lots of crying going on!

last run before winter storage.
1st I’ve driven the car since surgery! I was out for about an hour. Still have the double pumper on it, and it sure needs tuning, but man it sounds so good cruising at 4000rpm/70mph and stomping on it. Fun flying by cars at 100 mph w the engine screaming!
This video was a just part throttle increase from about 4000-5500rpm.

going to try to get some work done before my rotator cuff surgery in Jan…
today a buddy helped me get the trans out.
sidepipes are rotting out from the mufflers inside the tubes, time for open sidepipes, or stainless tubes?
