64 Vette….Rebuild 2.0

That car looks like crap! Give me your address and leave it by the curb!! I will be there in the morning with my trailer to take it off of your hands. That thing is pretty sweet! I just wonder if I can fit behind the wheel?

I'm packing 6' and 265lbs behind it right now....I've seen bigger guys in em.

lol, yea this summer i worked at a restoration shop, and we had a guy come with a 66 bb car and he had to be over 300, im suprised he fit, the steering wheels on thoes car are pretty tight on my legs and im no where near 300

Finally got the shroud brackets done. Had to remove the sway bar, to make room for the shroud. It hangs low enough to hit the sway bar.
I paid 18$ for the aluminum, and 40$ to have them cut, and bent to my specs. I will paint them black to blend in to the rest of the engine compartment.

Next up, engine and trans install.

NO, this thing handles better than I feel like pushing it on the street. In an open parking lot, like autocross that would be different, but on the street its great. I've been driving it for the last 5 years without the bar hooked to the lower control arms anyway. It launches a little better without it hooked up.

Thanks for the reminder Paul, I've been without a spray bomb of it for a while now, just using etching primer, and telling myself, I need to order some, but haven't got around to it. So I pick some up today....friggin' 14.00 a can :eek1::eek1::eek1:.

I guess it goes up like everything else.

Yeh, I need to do some shopping.

I got the engine and trans in this weekend, need to put all the stuff on the engine now, and figure out how to mount a small alternator on the drivers side, down low.
Problem is the suspension A arms are intruding into the space I need to put it, but I think I can fit a mini alt. in there, just have to figure out/make some brackets to mount it up. Back to the fab shop I go.

That is a beautiful C2. I'm glad to see someone doing something other than an NCRS correct resto on one.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comps!
I paid 3K for it in 82, had to replace the frame (repro's weren't available yet) and the original engine and trans, as well as many small numbered parts were gone. The 2nd owner tried to make it a 67 with the body mods, so I didn't really feel like going the full Numbers Matching Resto. I've always loved the body style, and I'm a hot rodder, so I'm having it the way I want it. Just because so many people ask if its the original engine...after having it decked when the machine work was done, I stamped fu*k off on the engine pad. I've had a few lookers at car shows looking for the numbers, then they stand up straight and look at me with a very puzzled look on their face.....yep thats there for you pal.

Thats pretty funny, however I do that at car shows sometimes, but usually only on the perfectly restored trailer queens. On the hot rods theres better thing to look for than if it has the original block heads etc.

I love the older Vette's but hate arrest me red. No matter what though that is a awsome ride and not being a fan of red, I like it the way it looks.

FINALLY.....taking the rear diff section out to send it to NJ, to have it strengthened up. In the car:

And out:

The guy is going to smooth out the carrier, add a machined steel cap, and rebuild, and upgrade other components which we haven't determined to what extent yet.

Should reliably handle 450 hp for street and strip.
