64 Vette….Rebuild 2.0

Dam, these oil pans arent repro’d anywhere, so originals are bringing crazy prices. I was looking for one for my shortblock in the basement.

The solid lifter engines in 63-65 had this extra quart pan with baffling and a windage tray mounted on main studs. Id like to get my “display” engine 365hp correct, but it might not happen that way....unless I change the pan on the engine in the car.

This pan looks factory from the outside. It doesn't have the rails down the side that inter-connect with the stud mounted windage tray. Once installed you would only know that. 1963 - 1965 Corvette Pan, engine oil (327 engine with 350, 300, & 250 hp.): CorvetteParts.com

Its very similar, but the sump isn’t quite as long as the solid lifter engine pan...they hold 1 qt more.
I may make some engine changes in the future, and may use a different road race style pan (instead of a deep sump pan for ground clearance) then I could use the original pan on my display engine.

Looking awesome as always Dave! I've liked that Vette since the first time I saw it, beautiful car, impressive build quality.

Is the factory 4 piston stuff a lot cheaper than say a wilwood 4 piston kit that's a lot lighter?

I kind of agree, put that pan on your model engine, and put a Moroso or something on the car. Or sell it and put a moroso on both with the money, ha ha

Heath...the Wilwood stock size is about 3x what factory stuff is, and bigger brakes are over 3k for the rears alone...Im not autocrossing, so factory will be a great upgrade over my drum system as is.
I already have a caliper set, will probably rebuild them and new slotted/drilled rotors.

Martin....never say never!

Hold yer breath!
But it wont see a muncie again.

Pressurized small block stroker built to pull from 3500-8k, with a 9k redline and a 6 speed....... .?

:burnout::popcorn:

All that braking power would be perfect in the twisties. Lol
