I didn't know you had a build thread.. to bad the pictures don't work anymore...
Yeah I uploaded them off Fb originaly.
There’s been a fair amount of work done to the car since I’ve had it. Had the body up off the frame in the driveway, all kinds of fun stuff eh.
Changed drivers floor pan, patched passenger side, fixed up inner rockers, trunk drops, part of the wheel tubs. That was about the majority of the metal replacement that I did, and that was all within the first year of owning the car.
It had a diamond pleat interior, to match its street machine exterior. Also had a 70s 350/churbski 350 puttin power through a 8.2 10 bolt with 3.08 gears.
Replaced it with a 97 vortec motor, knocked out to a 383 with a good sized roller cam. Ended up swapping the slush box for a tremec tko600. As well as swapping in another 8.2 with 373 gears. Blew up a lock right, than swapped it to a eaton posi. Also fired in 10 factory axle shafts and an TA diff girdle at the same time as the tremec swap.
Car’s got poly bushings through out all suspension bits, gen 2 trans am sway bar up front. Stock replacement rear sway bar with boxed lowers and uppers. The rears also got QA1 no hops, solved my wheel hop which is most likely what blew the lock right up It’s also got kyb shocks all around, the rear has been lowered 1.5” or so via cut coils.
Swapped manual drums to power disc up front.
As far as the paint and body goes. I stripped it to bare metal. And a family friend did the rest of it. It’s by no means a show car, but it looks pretty damn good for what it is. In all reality it should
Have quarters, doors, trunk, fenders and well a rotisserie
Interior was replaced with reproduction bits. Rear bench seat was recovered with a re-pop cover. Front bench had a custom cover made by a family friend, it came from a 71 cutty. Hence why it has head rests.
Towed the car home from the body shop on a nice typical cold canuckistanian day. My buddy had kicked the car outta his shop for a week. So we said to heck with it and towed it a few miles to my parents house.
And finally the last pic in this set was on its maiden voyage to a Easter weekend car show a hundred miles away. It was still like winter, and I raced a snowstorm to make it to the show. We got about 6-8” of heavy wet white stuff not long after I had made the hundred mile trip.
I’ll upload a few pics again I guess. Gives a guy an idear of how it’s come along.
