Location
Nebraska looking for D60's
I'm in the process of tearing down my truggy and I'm going to start over.I should have never torn it down but I needed $$$$ and I sold the tires and the D60 that were under it :(.
It may be slow as I'm not going to spend a lot on it currently, due to the need for a medium duty truck for my business but I will keep pic's posted and hopefully by mid winter it will be ready to run.
The "current" plan is to run a mild SBC/465/Stak {hopefully if $$$$ permit} D60/Eaton,both with Detroits and 5.13's, 39.5" or 42" Iroks,52"s up front with DIY4X B52 kit and DIY4X shackle flip in the rear with some kind of spring, not sure what yet. Not sure if I'll use the cage I have or not. If not it will be for sale.

So here's a couple pic's before I started pulling it apart again.

That bumper is coming off, since I plan to narrow the front end. The cage does need some mods if I use it for sure.

I've been following your post too. Nice rig :D.

Why the change of heart?

Hoping to run it off road or what are you thinking now?

Just some new ideas. It's never been really road worthy since I've owned it. Always a toy. Now I want it bigger and to run deeper gears.

I got it down to a bare frame and now comes stripping the frame and getting some stuff from Kurt at DIY4X :D . I'll have some more pic's up later today.

Looks like I'm going to stick a D70 in the front just because I can and see what it'll do for me.

Exactly what are you plans?

Gears?
Tire size?
Going to use some sort of doubler?
Axles?
Leaf of coil overs?
Stick or auto?

Kidding, just curious as to what'll be in the end.

Lots of flex on leaves.
I was thinking 350/465/Stak like I said in my first post but I got the wild idea a couple days ago to try a 350/th400/465/205 :D .

Just going to be a big truggy that I can play in the snow with here in NE and run the CO trails and if I ever get time I'll take it to Moab :D .

We built a custom crossmember. It's not quite right so we're going to build another one that fits better. Yeah,it's a 12V :D , The pump is turned up but it is going to get either a HX40 or Twins, injectors, probably a 7100 P-Pump later on,ect. The truck is sitting on about 10" of lift and 37" X-Terrains. I'll try to get more pic's up soon.

TWINS!!!! do the twins was the whole drive train from the donor truck?

No,only the motor. The tranny is a rebuilt 99' GM nv4500 with a Cummins input shaft, and the t-case is a 32spline Round Pattern GM 205 out of a 86' K30. The D60 is out of a 78' K30 and the Eaton is out of a 72' GM Box Truck so it's 70" WMS like the D60 is.

Here's pic's of my truggy in it's current form. Starting to do a little to it :D . Currently I hope to cut the knuckles off the D70 and run D60 stuff, from the knuckles out.

A buddy of mine did that and IIRC he was able to slide the axle tube of the 60 INTO the 70 and then just weld it in place.

So before you cut to one of the tubes to short, look into doing it that way.

I'll try to catch up with him and ask him about it.

Good start on the build for sure.

Going to have more pic's of CTD powered 67' up soon. It got all pulled apart and we built a new engine crossmember that will fit better and be stronger.
My truggy still sits where it was :(.

Can't wait to see more pics of the K20 with the CTD. Did you have to modify the firewall much? Jason

None yet and I don't think we will. Just had to remove the heater . Have to figure out how to get it back on. Will get pic's tonight when I go out to work on it.
