Just measured for a new Aluminum radiator with fans because I’m not sure I like the fit of the 06 Silverado SS one that I have. After measuring it up, I pulled out the radiator from a ‘70 big block El Camino & it fits perfectly after relocating the bottom mounts 1/2” toward the engine.
Now I’m thinking I should just go with that.
Does anyone have a reason not to use it with the 6.0 LQ9? or just spend the $600 plus for the cooler Aluminum one?

if you’re looking for a cheaper aluminum option with fans you might want to checkout @SpeedlabDan first gen thread. I’m also using the same brand (different model) on my K10 with a BBC. I paid $265 to my door for the radiator & fan combo.

I’d use the old over the new aluminum ones if the hoses can be worked out.

I would use the factory one to start and see how it works. But first, check the inlet and outlet sizes to see what it will take to connect to them. Those look close in the picture. I will tell you that your old one isn't an original for a '69 because it doesn't have the lower neck with a upward bend in it. And it looks too small for original, however this should be a benefit for the swap, as long as you can avoid having the lower hose get a kink in it from having the inner fender holding it up some.

I have read that the original 2006 hoses will work after modifying them by cutting them down...I had a left over 70 El Camino big block radiator...I tried it out in my Blazer & it fit perfectly...when I got my 69, the radiator wasn’t in it. Thanks for your input, it’s greatly appreciated. I think I will try to use what I have as you & bp71k5 suggest, if it doesn’t work out I can always check out other options.

So I’ve been kicking around the idea of using a 241C with my NP205 for a doubler. Does anyone know where to get what I need to get it done? Not like I need more to do on my rig but reading through NorCal69’s build & I’m back to wanting to do the doubler.

For the 241? I guess I thought both only did NP203 reduction boxes. Thanks, I’ll contact ORD

My 205 is a figure 8 pattern, looks like the 6 bolt circle pattern is needed for the Magnum
I’m not sure offhand. I run the NWF eco box with a figure 8 205. Here’s the titan box by NWF
