6inches plus ord zeros isnt enough

I resisted cutting for years, but the truth is there are only 3 choices:
1) tires 33" or less
2) sky high "roller skate" that doesn't flex
3) modify the fenders

IMO you shouldn't add any more height to the suspension because you don't need it. Even if you go up 4 more inches you can still make the tire hit with just a little more articulation. I've always thought somebody could make money selling aftermarket front fenders which are opened enough that you have to make minor changes to the inner fenders to make them work. But alas, many square nose owners don't care enough to spend the money.

That being said, I have to ask where you scored the military Baja TAs and also some more details on that front bumper.

The tires I got locally www.trailworthyfab.com wheels beadlocks and all was 2250 for a set of 5 beadlocks powder coated rockrings etc plud tax. The tires were 129each plus 50 for grooving. at the time I bought them I didnt have free time to do it myself nor did I have a groover. was just easier to have him do it.Andy gets in some of the BFGs from time to time, not enough to put on website but can request them if available.

The Bumper is from buckstop.biz classic 80s BAJA bar. PIAA driving lights and a warn Powerplant HD winch 12K+ compressor. weighs in at just under 500 lbs.

Ok so after talking with Colby, I decided to remove the front shocks and flex this puppy to measure the travel. Sure enough the shocks were limiting travel. flexes alot more without them.
The tire did not hit the fender at least.lol
the elevation of the trailer (compressed )lol was 29 inches to the deck.
Measurements:

Drivers side front Extended to 26 inches.
Drivers rear compressed to 22.5 inches
Passanger front Compressed to 19.25
Passanger rear extended to 27.5

Front at ride height 22.75 inches
Rear at ride height 25inches

the front bump stop is 3 inches of rubber and when compressed there was a 4.75 inch gap with no fender contact(trimmed , might have to put on a new set of fenders and recheck).

What length should I purchase new bump stops?

Shock suggestions? also I have seen replacement shock mount towers . Whould I need those?

Yeah, you're going to need higher shock mounts up front. Are you planning on doing the Ford towers or something?

I'm running ford, stamped towers with BBC 15" travel shocks. They have bumps on the shocks which I really like. I'm very happy with this set-up.

You can take a closer look at them tomorrow. :woot:

That's pretty respectable droop! I think with bumps in there you might even get more. Take a look at that bumpstop thread - there's some good products in there. Whatever you go with, you're going to have to fabricate dropped mounting points.

When you flexed, did you turn your wheels lock to lock to look for tire-to-fender clearance? It's different, and depending on how wide your tire is, it can make a significant change if your wheel is turned.
