70 AMX - almost yard art status

UPS came thru today... Spent my quarantine time finishing up (or redoing) the AC, heater core and fuel line.
Forgot how much I hate braided line. Also rebuilt an old carb...

Looks like the factory throttle cable and bracket will get replaced. Cable is about 1/2" to short (shitty re-pop... imagine that!) and the throttle bracket flexes.

Hope to get the front brakes/suspension wrapped up next.
Once the new engine harness arrives, should be ready to fire up, I think.

and the hobby is much better for that...
There's enough arseholes in the AMC world without getting you involved!

:haha:
You misunderstood my statement. I don't have any AMCs so it's easy to distance my self from them!

Didn't misunderstand anything. I know you don't but know what ya meant. :rolleyes2:

Anyway, might be headed your way to pick up another orphaned Rambler.
It has a pretty slick suspension set up.

Dude, that looks sweet.
But I find it odd that your the only guy I've met that goes north to buy cars!

Lol:haha:

If your around by me let me know. I'll buy you a beer for being late last time!

No kidding...but you can't find the 2 door big cars down here anymore. Most still seem to be in WI.

Still blaming Siri for being late but I'll take you up on the offer.
Thx

No real progress.
Just through some tires on it since its just been sitting on jack stands without any for so long.

Ignoring the fact the rear tire diameter is almost the same as the wheel well... it looks pretty good to me.

Good proportions. I like the look.

Thx @AgDieseler & @Greg Ducato
The wheels & tires were for my old crusty Ambassador but they may stay here.

Dropping the rears to a 255 should get rid of the clearance problems in the rear and not effect the stance much.
Have to see once it settles some. Just nice to have it on the ground again.

The heap is still in timeout for the transmission issues.
Wasn't real happy with the carb & fuel system so a PF4 was added (thx @folkenheath ). Have to finish up the the intank pump still, but it does look pretty.

Added a new toy... a nostalgia 70 AMX drag car.
It's pure 80's technology. Full tube frame, 4 link, 401 & a Lenco.
Time to get back into drag racing. Should be fun.

Kinda a funny side story with all the muffler convo's going on.
Working on slowing down some oil leaks and had the car idling in the driveway.
It's a bit loud with 2" primaries, 4"collectors and dumps.
A neighbor stopped by and asked what mufflers I had on the car. Wasn't sure if he was being a Rtchard or not... drives a new coyote mousestang. Should have seen his face when I handed him my saws-all!!!

That thing is way cool!

Thanks. I'm pretty excited about it.
It has a lot of race history up North.
Most modern parts are probably the Holley blue pumps.
The Domination is old enough to have provisions for a choke!

Looks awesome Andrew!

And a Lenco on the nostalgia ride, that's sweet!

Is that Cordova?

I Was wondering the same thing.
Guessing that there isn't a ton of tracks with that green color in between the lanes.

The home of the world series sign pretty much clinches it
