My tranny (th350) is pretty much fried. I have a 700R4 out of a 89 2wd Sub and I have heard that with a few Mods I could bolt this up to my 203 x-case. Has anyone heard or done this? If it does require mods about how much do they run or would it be cheaper to rebuild my Th350 which I have had a quote of in the neighborhood of 400-500.00 range. Thanks for any info. /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

Some one told me that you could just cut off some of the rear output shaft and it would mate up. That seems like it would be feesible but I don't want to tear anything up on a good tranny. I've never torn a tranny down so I have no idea what I'm getting into.

the splins do not go far enough back even on the 4x4 shafts let alone the 2wd shaft. I have done this my self the only other way would be to use a huge spacer which would cause more problems because the 203 is a heavy case. I am selling a 700-r4 that has all ready been converted it is in the for sale fourm.

the 2wd is WAY to long for this. the 700r4 4wd shaft is too long also. you will neeed the special shaft.

now on a th350, the 2wd long tailshaft, you can cut 1.75" off the shaft and use a spacer to REPLACE a 700r4.
