700R4 after engine swap

Motor seems to run fine. I just swapped it out, that's the reason for this whole debacle. I had a 305 with 260,000 miles on it, and it was knocking, and spark knocking. So I swapped it out with a 305 with 50,000 miles on it (PO had a bad intake manifold gasket, and deep pockets so he just put a crate in).

The motor seems to be good, doesn't miss, fires right up, good oil pressure. I guess it could be the motor, but I feel like it's a tranny problem. The mechanic I'm gonna take it to is the same guy who sold me the motor, who said "If you have any trouble with it, bring it back and I'll refund your money."

If I can get out of this deal, I swear it will be the last time I pull a automatic tranny.

Most likely you are seeing the damage to the pump. It isn't building enough pressure to drive the system. My guess is the engine is fine, but the pump will need to be swapped out. This may or may not resolve the issue, since there could be metal shavings in the trans, but best case you can swap the pump and get back on the road.
