I say...talk yourself out of a rebuild, then your 700R4 should be good for another 100,000 miles.
Ok, all those bolts were tight. It's the aluminum block that the line is going into, check those bolts including the small 8mm headed one
Yeah looking like rebuild time. I watched some videos on the sun shell, and it's possible there could have been a clean break. Which would mean fluid ok and no metal in pan. Maybe something got lodged in valve body to explain the weird pressure readings. I have a call in to bowtie od. Also it doesn't look like they put in upgraded sun shell for stage 2. That's in stage 3.Thats too bad, could have been an easy fix.
There is a guy up in Phoenix who rebuilds them. He rebuilt the th350 for my blazer. Amazing work.View attachment 414754
Well it's out and it's going to California
BTOwho in CA, BTO in Hesperia, or the Toy Store in Pomona ?
I got it back from bto. The sunshell was toast. Also, the forward piston had a hairline crack. So they did a upgraded billet sunshell and piston. You can lose a low/reverse clutch pack or a reverse input clutch pack and still retain normal forward function but those generally fail with a bit of warning. Sun shell spline failure happens in an instant and will not change line pressure reading, ( yours are normal )
Yes
