I'd guess 90% of all "SS" Chevelle's here are clones..best to bring a chassis number listing to ensure your really buying an original SS when you go shopping..
Personally ,if the car is rust free,has a BBC and 4 speed and all the other stuff an SS would have had,I could care less if its a clone or "not matching numbers"..if I can buy it for 20 grand less !..

I agree. Muscle cars are cool because of what they have. BBC, 4 speed, racing stripes, etc, etc,
Look at a 63-64 Nova SS. Those cars had inline 6s. Who cares!

I know a guy who had a '64 Nova that came factory with an Iron Duke inline 4 cylinder,and an air cooled Powerglide !..

I didn't know they sold all new bodies for Chevelle's,I knew thay has some for Camaro's and certain year pickups...

Well, I turned the car down today. I am going to save up and get something nicer up front.
I really don't care about numbers matching, small blocks, automatic transmissions or even being a Malibu. My car will be modernized with a new gen 4 LS engine and 6 speed manual trans, a new can bus operated dash utilizing the engine sensors, all new wiring with power windows, locks etc. Adding all the SS stuff to make it a clone is easy enough to do!

That is a beautiful build! But 70k is a little much. I'm not sure how my wife would feel about me spending 90k cad on a Chevelle lol
